I'm so torn. I remember reading that Jamie was going to have a cocktail hour with drinks and was thinking of having her BM's run to the different snack bars and bringing food over. I like that idea because I hate that we have to pay additional for food at an all inclusive place! Plus I think I want a mariachi band, in which case would be expensive (especially for 2 hours). However, I don't want it to look cheap or unorganized, so I think I'd do the 12 or 14 dollar package if I chose to go with appetizers.

Do you think you'll be a part of the cocktail hour, or no? Since my ceremony is at 3 I am wondering what to do after the pics are done. It would probably be weird to be at the cocktail hour though....and then do you get "introduced" at the reception like a traditional wedding?

I cant remember if I've asked this before but are you girls planning to get "introduced" and come running in our whatever?

I don't mind paying for the food, people are spending lots of $$ to come down to celebrate our wedding with us so I want to make them feel special. We will still save $$ by having our DW instead of an at home wedding.

So you ladies are not attending your cocktail parties? It had never occured to me that it might be strange for my FH and I to go but now it does.

We are having a private reception but maybe the introduction of us as a newly married couple could be done at the cocktail party, would that be weird? We are still having speeches and everything at the dinner though.

Just out of curiosity, how many guests is everyone expecting?

We'll have probably somewhere between 35-50 guests. I'm estimating in the 40's at this point. I have NO idea whether to come to the cocktail party or not? I know at traditional weddings you don't, but what does that mean for DW? I like the idea of being announced for the cocktail hour, because I don't know what I'll do at an AI resort for the 4 hours in-between. I'd have to avoid everyone!!! LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
