Maybe you guys can help me decide.

Kimmy - did you check out www.peridress.com ? I've heard a lot of good things about them, and they can custom make dresses from a picture you send in. For 150-200, it couldn't hurt to see what they come up with.

Chloe- I wish I could see your dresses from work! They sound so pretty! I can't wait to look at them when I get home tonight!

Hi ladies,

I am just wondering what everyone did for their actual invitations, how far ahead did you send them out?

I am thinking I need to send my formal invitation out by June/July for my wedding in November (I already sent STD's in January) however I am not sure on wording or what exactly to put on the invitation because we know the ceremony time but not the reception time.

Any input on this subject would be helpful.

Thanks!

Hey Jetsbride-We didn't do STD's because we had an engagement party and I gave everyone koozies with the date and little reminder cards. We are sending out our wedding invitations at the beginning of June. I know that most DW brides send their invitations out 3-4 months in advance so I think if you sent them out in July, that would be fine. We aren't sending ours out early because all of the people who are coming to Mexico have booked. Our invitations are mainly for our AHR. Hope that helps!

Thanks tylersgirl, I was thinking July is better too.

That is an awesome idea to give the koozies and reminder card at the engagement party.

Has anyone had the issue of guests not booking with the agent you decided to go with because they want to wait and see if they can get a better price? How have you dealt with it? or do you just leave it alone?

Thanks for searching, Tylersgirl! I came across that same page a few days ago and decided against that specific one... she's asking for $1000 and by the time i do the sizing alterations i'd have spent almost the same as getting a new one. I've searched google, ebay and craigslist too!

Chloe- I love Peridress and other similar websites. I was hoping to find my exact dress on one of these chinese sites because that way I'll know they have made it before. I'd be a little scared to have them make it off the photos I send them because I don't have any good close-up photos. It may still be worth it though, even if it's not exact. So you've heard good things about Peridress specifically? I'm practically sold already :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
