OK, for the life of me, I cannot remember where I heard about the fee for outside photographers. It could be for another resort for all I know, I found that information very early in my planning (before we had 100% decided on a place). But, I was able to find a few sources for info about booking a room for the photographer for the night. Unfortunatly I don't have anything concrete, as they are not the greatest communicators. I got all my info from other BDW users.

Carrieo- I don't think it matters if the Riu sees through your plan or not. If you look at a user Evonut's review of her wedding, she says that she used Elizabeth Medina and paid for a room for 1 night for her and her assistant so they would be considered guests.

This thread also mentions outside photographers at the RPRM...

so does this one...

Destinationbridegina- It just depends on what the rate is for that particular day. To get a ballpark fiqure, you could just look it up on their website, but it would prob be cheaper to book their room through your TA.

If anyone hears anything different, please let me know. I'm bringing a photographer down from the states, and definately would not like it if they were prohibited from taking photos on my wedding day.

I think with shipping and everything I am paying around 1.50 per chair cover. Way cheaper than the $4 at the RIU....and we get to keep them for our at home reception! Does anyone know if they offer a cocktail hour after the ceremonyhuh.gif Does anyone have a price list for this? Let me know! Thanks girls!!! I have less than 6 months to go!
I'm also thinking of getting married at a RIU location. If we buy our own bows, how will it fit in the schedule to put them on? Is there time before the ceremony when the chairs are set up for us to decorate? Thanks!!

I just want to say hi to all the new RPRM Brides! wink.gif

Nessa-You are getting married soon! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Just a note-I am with Archie510-I am using the hotel's photographer. He is really good. I think that some brides had bad experiences with a previous photographer, but the current photographer seems to be doing a great job.

aqua32marine-I have the chair bows and I think that we just hand them to the WC and she will put them on for us when she is decorating. I don't think we have to help at all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
