@@angie04 me too!! May 31 :)

When is your wedding? I just emailed with the wedding coordinator about the officiant. She told me that you don't meet with the minister before the wedding. The minister will typically talk with the groom 15 min prior to the wedding to see if there's anything special we want them to say. Does this seem right to you?

May 30th is my date!! I'm sure I will see you there! :)

I was wondering about that too, but I haven't asked about it yet. That seems like a short amount of time to go over everything.

I have been having trouble getting a response back when I email and it is usually from different people.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know the price to rent the Daquari Bar or if the drinks there are all included? Is this bar at a neighboring RIU resort and if so do they they have shuttles for guests??

So excited for all of you ladies with upcoming weddings!!

Liz - I have about 80 people going!

Things add up fast at the RIU so we are actually having a reception off-site.  It's a whole different set of things to worry about but for us it was the right choice.  I think for 45 people you could rent a room at Wickys in downtown playa and have a lot more freedom for things you want to do.

Is this where you are having your reception?

Hi Igann83,

If you are looking at a private cocktail hour at the Daiquiri Bar it will start at $30 USD per person (15 USD per open bar 2 hours and 15 USD Hors d'oeuvres or 20 USD per open bar 4 hours and 15 USD Hors d'oeuvres). It requires a min. of 30 guests and has a max. of 80 guests. The Daiquiri can be booked between 7:00pm - 11:00pm.

The Daiquiri bar is the pool bar, I believe. There are no shuttles between Riu resorts as far as I know.

@@liz24 I'm stressing out!  :o lol how about you? I had initially planned to do a legal ceremony in the state I live in, but last minute decided I wanted to do the legal ceremony in Mexico. Everything worked out fine, but the only issue I am having is my fiance took his mother's last name. Not his fathers. I don't know if this will be an problem? I emailed them today and I am hoping they will get back with me soon! I still have a lot of little details I need to figure out.

Do you have all of your stuff done?

Hi brides!

We hope you don't have problems with those little details.

A few months ago we shared a Same Day Edit production of a hindu wedding,

now we want you to watch the Highlight of that hindu wedding,

It is really interesting to know more about this culture trough the traditions of the brides and grooms.

Hope you like it, Happy planning!

Hey Liz24, I have 26 confirmed guests going so we decided to go with the free package after some number crunching. We are going to bring in our own minister to officiate our wedding because 1) it is cheaper 2) It is more personal since the minister actually wants to know our story (via email and Skype). I just find the officiant provided by Riu is rather businesslike with no special touch to make the ceremony more magical.

FYI, I posted a lot of information I got from RPRM's reps so I posted them on my planning thread

Some information that brides are looking for may be already in one of my attachments.

Note: Any pricing mentioned on the thread is for 2014.

Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
