Update from Nancy -   you cannot just have once person there,

I have checked about the Cigar Roller team, and they say they charge the same, since they would need 2 people

to set everything. It seems that one person is not enough, so price would be 450 usd"

$450 usd        2 people with uniform, 1 person hand-making the cigars, the other explaining process in  English
200 usd       40 cigars hand made
260 usd       personalized rings with your initials

I am going to check & see if I can just have the one person rolling...I do not need someone explaining the process in English.  I will let you know what I find out.

WOOT HOOT!  4 booked!  That's awesome, Jess!  It's a start & they will all follow!!!!    woot.gif  I hear you about patience because I have like close to 10 more people "who say" they are coming and still have not booked.  I am just getting nervous because the week is Easter Break and almost all the flights out of our airport are starting to fill up and the prices keep rising!

We thought the same about the cigars at first, but figured in town they would be close to $10 a piece depending on how good they were. (My FI is picky)  I moved some money around in our budget for it.  It was the first thing he "really" showed interest in.  lol  I had made some matches made up a few months ago so we are going to roll with it (pun intended!)  Here is the design.

Hello, I was Online and came across this board. I will be having my wedding at Riu Palace Riveria Maya on June 22, 2013. There are so many different choices for everything and of course everything seems to cost extra. I'm in the process of reading past posts in hopes to get some tips and see what others in the past have done. Right now am trying to find a photographer and thinking I will just go with adventure photography, although I am not sure how far in advance I need to book. I am also trying to understand how the reception works (I have 14 guests booked with 10 other people saying that they are also planning on going). I am planning on the semi private dinner, but how does the dance portion work? I want to have our first dance together and am not sure how that works or if to have a dance it needs to be a private dinner, any suggestions? Thank You! I look forward to hearing what everybody else is doing for their wedding!

Hi Stephanie072007,

Congrats!  The RPRM is absolutely beautiful!  Excellent choice for your wedding.  We are getting married there April 2, 2013.

The resort photographer is Adventure Photos.  The contact there is Petar Gachevski - email address [email protected]

I am unsure how far in advance you have to book.  We booked with them for my wedding - he did not require a deposit - I will meet with him when I arrive in Playa del Carmen (right after meeting with Nancy at Riu to finalize wedding plans).  Petar has been wonderful to work with so far - very quick to respond to any questions.  They also have a Facebook page.  Maybe send him an email and see if he's available that date and go from there?

They just published the following 2013 Pricing List:

As far as the reception - you may want to check with Nancy Hernandez Gonzalez who is the wedding coordinator onsite at the Riu.  From what I understand, a semi-private dinner you cannot have music/dance floor since you will be sharing the restaurant with other guests of the resort.  I was under the impression it's the private dinner which allows you to have music/dancing.

If you do not wish to have the added expense of a private dinner - maybe have your first dance at your cocktail hour....you could have a semi-private one there and maybe hire the mariachi band or bring an iPod with speakers....just a thought!

Sorry - it's not working.  If you send me your email address I will forward it to you.  Petar had copied and pasted in an email.  I do not have an electronic copy of the file.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
