What do I have left to do?? Well, one of my friend's mom is a seamstress (very good, making her daughter's flower girl dresses) so she is doing my alternations so I still need to bring my dress to her..

We are having our legal ceremony on November 30 at the courthouse with a best friend and her fiance (they are getting married in my hometown the sat. before we leave) as our witnesses. It means a ton to her since she can't make it to Mexcio, and then no one coming to Mexico will attend the legal ceremony. Other then that, still waiting for programs and maraca tags from vistaprint. Once I get them in I will attach programs to raffia fan and hole punch all maraca tags ( we're purchasing maracas down in Mexico).

I think that is it for the wedding stuff... Then its just figuring out how to get it all down with us. Once we get home we will have a little more to do for AHR, which is on March 26th. We've got all the big stuff done, just need a few more decorations and such.

Glad to hear you made it home safely and everything went well! :) :) Cannot wait to see some pictures!

Questions: First off, how's the married life?!... For the resort, where did you do your dinner and cocktail hour (if did the semi-private cocktail hour... Also, what songs did you do... We are thinking Cannon in D, and here comes the bride to start and then walk out to better together. Not too sure about for the signing of the certificate but thought something a little more fun since we are doing the fun song to walk out to...

Hm, I am sure I will have more :) Can't wait to hear more.

 Hi Everyone!

I cant believe i will be leaving in 2 weeks. UNREAL! even though we have 27 people we will have the 1st seating time at Chilies which is perfect since thats the place that has the upstairs seatting and well my parents are old and need their early bird meal. Havent decided yet where to have the cocktail hour, i'm thinking at the outside bar, the same one as Dana. Other than that everything is pretty much set up. I have arranged for a day trip to Chichen Itza for the day after the wedding and me and my guest are very excited for that.

The only thing i am having an issue with is trying to figure out if i really want to do a "first look" or not. any of you brides have any thoughts on this??? for me i think it would just be nice to be able to cry it out then (i know i will cry there is no way around that) and hopefully be more held together during the ceremony.

Also, i'm trying to figure out the songs for the ceremony. so far this is what i'm thinking:

1.- Entrance of bridesmaids and groomsmen : all i want is you -- from the Juno soundtrack 2.- Entrance of Bride: Feels like home 3.- Signing of symbolic certificate: eye of the tiger?? I dont know... do we need a song for this? 4.- Ending: You and I by dave matthews or something by jack johnson because i am obsessed with him.

AH so crazy! hope you are all doing well!!!! happy monday!

Jen- Married life is great, we've lived together for about a year so it really doesn't seem different....well except everyone keeps calling me Mrs. Snook so maybe it just doesn't seem real yet. We had a private reception at Chili's. The food was really good, I was a little nervous b/c when we were there last year I really didn't like my steak but it was awesome this time. They started with both appetizers on the menu (seafood plate and chicken cesar salad). It was amazing how fast they were able to get everyones meals out since everyone ordered what they wanted. I had the filet minon and it came with a grilled shrimp skewer.

We did the cocktail hour at Lyrico Bar outside. They had a little area set up and had about 5 waiters/ess serving drinks and champange at that time. We did not do food, I was being cheap b/c it was alot of money and since we had 54 people and paying for the private reception it would have cost alot more. To be honest it felt a little weird with no food there so if you have it in your budget you may want to add hourdeves. It was pretty quiet at that time on the patio b/c it was at about 5:30pm and the buffet and restaruants don't open until 6:30pm so it felt private. I think most of the other hotel guests were in there rooms getting ready for dinner. They did have quiet music playing in the background which was nice, but if you want you could probably bring your own?

Lynn- We didn't do a first look. I really wanted to see each other for the first time walking down the aisle, but that was just me. I thought I was going to cry, but let me tell you those stupid stones they have to walk on moved and I was more nervous about tripping.

As for songs, I really didn't do anything traditional.

-I had a friends Jazz music playing while everyone was waiting for the ceremony to start

-Momma's Song by Carrie Underwood for the mother's and my grandmother being seated

-Make you feel my love by Adele (the instrumental version) for my sisters (bridemaids)

-Feels like Home by Chantel for me

-Beautiful Day by U2 for the walk out

I honestly didn't even think about a song for the signing of the certificate so it was a little quiet, but it's so fast that I don't even know if you really need one. In retrospect, they prononce you husband and wife right after so they could have started my processional song quietly??

Did you all see about the explosion in Playa del Carmen yesterday? I really hope that none of the brides on here were there. It said on the news that a wedding was at the resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
