My whole deal with destinationweddings.com is they act like they provide all these things, but really they are no different than any other travel agent- that is just my opinion based on my experience though. We also didnt' have the best agent either....Sounds like V has had some better luck- which is AWESOME! woot.gif

Yeah I thought the same thing about the fruit basket, welcome sign, etc. Just sounds like you get something but its really nothing. And yeah I dont think this TA is really getting anything special just because she works for Destinationweddings. But on the other hand I did try to organize this myself at first and get the RIU to give me group rates and it was near impossible. Plus the first travel agent we tried wasn't going to get us anything extra, even a fruit basket! haha. So, at least someone else is answering everyone's questions and keeping track of how many rooms we will have. I guess its worth not doing it yourself!

Congrats Celeste! That is super exciting.

Dana- how did your fitting go? Didn't you have your second fitting - or is it coming up soon?

I found a dress for my legal ceremony that is now turning into a church ceremony. It meant a ton to my Mom that I got married in a church, so the day before we leave for Mexico we are having a ceremony at my church with our parents only. No one else even knows about it. So...I really wanted a dress that felt somewhat like a wedding dress...I found this dress at Ann Taylor. I had a 30% off coupon so it was very reasonably priced after the discount. Keeping my fingers crossed that it looks as good in person. I always find it so tough to buy stuff online...what do you girls think?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
