HI everyone!

so i just realized that i'm about 2 and half months away from my wedding. i had my rsvp deadline set for sept 20th and of course today i spent my whole time playing travel agent. Good news though is that we have about 25 people booked!!! i'm getting really excited and i'm freakin out. i have a few questions for all you up coming brides..

- are you planning any day trips? i'm hoping to plan a day trip to chitchen itaz with about 15 people so i was wondering if you had a tour company to recommend or know what the average cost is for a person and what does that include.

- are you doing chair bows?

- are you brining center pieces or other decorations because i orginally wasnt going to bring anything or do anything...

and and i dont know why those statements above a bolded. anyways happy friday everyone!!!

I am doing chair bows, and plan on ordering and bringing them with me. The RIU charges $4 to rent one chair bow, and I found some for $.65 each!

I'm also bringing votive candles and other stuff to decorate just a tad bit. I hope with this new wedding planning company they'll have more options by the time I get married in June!

Also just got my Wedding Update Newsletters designed... just printing and sending them out now! Hopefully this will motivate some people to book!

vlvetter: Thanks so much for sending me the info on your travel agent! She is hilarious. The nice thing is that she has already done this for the same hotel and knows about all the discounts RIU offers... my other travel agent didn't. Hopefully we do end up getting enough people booked that we get some perks. We'll find out soon! :)

I just want to share my week with those of you who might be going through the same thing... one by one my bridesmaids have let me know they probably can't make it to my wedding. First of all, I asked 6 (because Tyler couldnt narrow his down to less than 6), one is my sister and she will be there, but for various reasons (mostly financial), 3 of the others has expressed their uncertainty... and my wedding is 4 months away! I knew I needed to expect some people won't make it, but I was so upset that I might not have many friends there, I decided to offer to pay part of their trip this week. So as of now I have 5 bridesmaids (one just can't be there because she just started school) and one who is still unsure. I'm realizing this is one of the hard things about having a destination wedding. But still, I think it is going to be awesome once we finally get there!

So now we are set up with a new travel agent and she said 8 groups already requested quotes... I have NO clue how many people to expect, but I can't wait til I am booked and can't back out because this has been some stressful decision-making the past 2 months!

I hope planning is going well for the rest of you. I have yet to figure out favors, decorations, bridesmaid dresses... yikes.

Eek! SCarp, I completely understand how you feel. I wish I could offer to help my BMs come, but we're already struggling to save for the wedding as it is. :-(

I don't have many close girlfriends, so I asked 3 girl cousins to be BMs (1 is my MOH), my fi's sister, and a friend.

Well, My cousin who's just 4 months younger than me automatically said yes to being my MOH! But it's sad when you have a friend you've known for just a couple years that immediately agrees to go, and cousins you've known your whole life are keeping you in the dark for more than 6 months. I called two girl cousins yesterday, and my mom told my aunts that I would be calling them to find out what's going on, and they didn't answer their phones.

I understand not being able to afford to go, but just be straight with me! If you can find the money later to even go to my wedding, great! But I do need to know who is going to be in my bridal party so I can plan and budget accordingly.

Virginia-Sorry, I was away at the Jersey Shore all week with no internet access. I sent you the luggage tags on Tuesday so they are supposed to arrive Monday I believe. I got my cups when I got home today, they are really nice. The logo is a little bigger then I expected, but overalll I'm really happy with them.

I feel all your pain. I luckily decided that I was only asking my sisters to be in my wedding b/c i knew they would def be coming. It was one of the best decisions I made, so much less stress. Fortunately, most of my friends are coming to my wedding, but my poor FI has barely anyone coming. I think deep down he is hurt, but he seems to not care as much.

I can't believe I leave for my wedding 5 weeks from today!

Dreamingofsunshine- I'm not going to do centerpieces. I am already going to be paying out of the nose for all my extra luggage I'm bringing. If I decide I have to have centerpieces I will pay for some flower arrangements, but I doubt it since it will be so expensive down there. I decided to do the chair bows. I got them on sale for 0.59 a piece. Here is the website I ordered from.

Dana- I received the luggage tags yesterday! Thanks so much. They are great quality. Not sure what I was expecting...guess just a thinner plastic or something but thanks so much! Glad to hear the mugs are what you were hoping for. Did you get the clear? Can you send a picture? Wow - you leave in 5 weeks! I'm so jealous. What do you have left to do?

Aalva416- I love the idea of sending a wedding update newsletter! Think I might have to steal that one from you...are you planning to do a postcard format or a one page letter type newsletter?

Well my bridesmaids all picked out and bought their dresses. Same color and fabric but they each got a different style dress. They are all different figures so it only made sense and they all look and feel great in their choices. One more thing to check off my list!

Also had a face to face meeting via skype with my photographer - Joshua Albanese. He's great! I'm so excited that I found him on here and can't wait for him to shoot my wedding!!! 6.5 more months...

Virginia-I know I was pleasantly surprised by the quality too! I did get the clear mugs. I will take picures tonight so I can send them to you. That's awesome that you got your bridesmaid dresses and they all agreed on one.

I really don't have much to do. Tomorrow I am going to send out my welcome brochure and luggage tags, they are all ready to go just need to be sealed and sent. I have to make the welcome letter for the OOT bags and make a label and bag up some of the "meds" we bought for the OOT bags. I have to get shoes for my welcome dinner dress and TTD photos. Next week I go back for my second fitting for my wedding dress, I'm hoping it will be better then the last and the dress will look better. Sigh!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
