Nic: Don't worry, I wasn't even engaged at 7 months... you will be fine!!

I need help! I know I've seen posts about brides who had travel agents who got them the RIU group discount (for every 25 people you get one person free) and my travel agent is trying to tell us she can't get it for us. I would really like the number of a travel agent who knows about that discount, because ours isn't saving anyone any money so what's the point of having her?? I'd really appreciate your help! Thanks!!

SCarp : where are you located? I know flight center here in canada offered it to us.  As well I know Wedding by Oceans posts a lot of these deals on facebook, maybe join their group.  Maybe you could show those posts to your agent?

We've decided to stay at Riu Palace RM but get married off the resort with a reception at Kool Beach club.  But I find I still have a lot of resort questions.  Looking forward to chatting with you all.

The first question.  Does anyone know how much a day pass in?  It would be in May 2011.

Thanks!

SCarp- I just shot you over my travel agent's contact info. She's great and was able to get us an amazing rate as well as special perks (i.e. the free room upgrade, free room with every 25 booked, "surprise gift", etc).

I have been quickly checking in but haven't had a ton of time to post. Nic you're right - it has been quiet again!

Tomorrow night I am going with my bridesmaids to pick out dresses! I should also be receiving my invitation proofs this week. Very exciting week...

What has made you get married off resort? Where are you getting married? xox

Thanks, $80 isn't too bad at all.

We have 60-70 people coming, so I wanted somewhere larger and that we could drink and dance until 2.  Plus our parents really wanted a "real" reception whatever that means.  Booking the beach club was a good half way point between our wants and theirs.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
