Nicyx-I love those shoes. I was going to buy them for my wedding too. The only thing to warn you about, I found the at Marshals last week in black and white and they are pretty uncomfortable between the toes. You may be able to put padding around it though?

Sammysgirl-What happened with your shower this weekend? Did you go?

Jannae-Your dress is very pretty. I hope they are able to fix what you don't like.

Sammysgirl- my shower was brutal too. My mom hosted mine for me... I had about 6 girlfriends there and 20 of my mom friends. I barely knew who most of them were and it was awfully embarrassing when I opened gifts from "Cheryl" or "Sofie" and I had no idea who they were to even acknowledge them. It was NOT the most fun I've ever had wink.gif Would have been better if there were more games/activities so everyone could get to know each other.

LadyTrunck- I really like your TTD!! It's gorgeous. My wedding dress came from Duosheng (i ordered a different one from Landy Bridal that i will wear at my AHR)... I wore it for both the wedding and the TTD and it's still in perfect shape (and the whole thing is lace!). It was nice having a "knockoff" that looked amazing, and i wasn't worried about damaging it at all!

Paige- I was also trying to decide between the Mariachi and the Trio for the cocktail hour. I didn't get to see the Trio at all so I can't offer any advice. At my meeting with the wedding coordinator I saw a photo of the trio- one of the instruments looked like a harp, and I already was getting the harpist for the ceremony so I went with the Mariachi, as something totally different. I didn't try to negotiate at all. My guess is that they won't budge on price, but it might be worth a shot. I think your better bet would be hiring them for the set price, but then "bribing" them to play for more time for a little bit of cash (45 min goes by very quick). I justified paying for both the harpist and the mariachi by not paying for the private reception/DJ. Like I mentioned above we ended up with a dj anyway so it worked out pretty well wink.gif

Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the great information!! I'm not sure if this question has been answered or not, but I'm wondering if anyone has actually used their IPOD and Bose speakers for their reception instead of paying for a DJ? And...if you have a semi-private reception, can you use your IPOD for musichuh.gif Thank you!

Sammysgirl - what happened at the shower.

Quick question for past brides, so I heard from Ael last Weds (4/14) and I emailed her back on Friday (4/16) with few questions and my guest list, I haven't herad from her as yet. I know they are busy and it may take few days for them to reply back but just wondering how long it took for Ael to correspond with past brides.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
