Jannae - I agree with what Adrienne said, def get the chair bows. I spent $87 dollars I belive for 80 bows (diff shades of blue). Dont worry about the huppa have the petals def maybe buy some extra bags and take it with you too. By the way I didn't realize you were using Wendy as your TA too!!! I remember posting about her months ago, she is truly wonderful! and I know she is trying hard and contacting ppl at the resort to see if they can offer anything extra to us :-)

Ladies last weekend my fiance with the help of my friends threw another surprise shower for me because of my mom was in town from Toronto. below is a link to the pictures. (my fiance bought some pink petals, Jannae I can ask him where he got those if u want) Below is a link to the photos, i think you can just copy and paste it in ur browser and see them. If you wondering about the Henna (pics) its a thing we do for muslim weddings, the bride and her friends get Henna in their hands and feet. So my Fiance went and hired a henna artist for us, which I thought was very cute!

Sammysgirl-At any point did they say that they would go to the wedding? I know we had a discussion with both our parents before we booked. His mom has never flown before and if she wasn't comfortable then we weren't going to do it b/c it was really important for her to be there.

If they were agreeable before I'd say that this is not right. My opinion is that you go to the shower regardless. I don't think you should stoop to their level. I agree you don't have to be nice to them, just polite. My godmother who has no children, millionaire and retiring on Sept 1st is not coming to our wedding. I have yet to get an explanation but heard through the grapevine she doesn't want to leave her cat. Weird. I saw her on Easter and was just polite and said hello and held no conversation with her. She got the point w/out me being rude and think they will too!

I'm so sorry you are going through this, it must be so hard!

These are all people who were agreeable and RSVPed to come to Mexico. All have been saying that they were coming until yesterday. This is his mom, dad, brother. His brother says its financial. His mom just started a new job and says she will get fired, his dad is just a selfish idiot.

OMG, I completely changed my mind! Something else is def going on. Your FI needs to step in and deal with this now! You should be completely out of it. Are they doing this to punish you or your FI for something? Did his brother already have his wedding attire, tickets, etchuh.gif

I don't think you should go to the shower now. Just understand that your relationship with his side of the family will be no longer. Are you okay with that? More importantly is your FI okay with that? It will make yours and his life a lot more complicated!

Yes, this is just a shitty situation. I am so sorry you have to go through it. But it is important that you at least sit down and talk to S about his thoughts on skipping the shower and everything and about talking to his family about this situation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
