Katie Welcome back- I LOOve your new pic! Beautiful and I can't wait to see more!

How did you end up giving out your oot bags?

Did any previous brides do the Sand ceremony?

Are there any going out bars anyone can recommend?

So I finally got the 7:00 Chilis dinner reserved with Ael- she kept emphasizing we had to have 60 guests to book it- then I magically have exactly 60 guests and she "informs" me if I go over 60 each person is $15.00, WOW thats so strict! Ive also been annoyed because she told me back in October that to bring in my photog was going to be $100 for the day pass, and now it's $200! SOO frusterating!!

But I am so thankful to have the 7:00 confirmed :)

Ladytrunk- how are you playing the music as your guests are seated, on your own ipod radio or will the resort do it?

Seems like there are a lot of inconsistencies with the resort telling people different things. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly! Paige, save your email communication where they told you $100 for the photog, and bring it with you. Glad you got the 7pm, but I've never heard of that 60+ person rule.

Paige, I heard that Coco Bongo is the going out bar to go to down there. It doesn't open until around 10, but I think it is pretty much open all night. When my parents were leaving their hotel in Playa (a couple of weeks ago) to go to the airport at 630 AM, the coco bongo bus was just getting back. I guess is right down town Playa.

Paige- so glad you got the 700 time!! I'm only going to have about 40-45, so it's prob out of the question for me. Inconsistencies have been so frustrating right!? I got the same crap with the outside photog. HOWEVER, newest info (that I am printing up via email) is that since they are staying at the resort for the wedding night, we don't need to pay the 200 (previously told 100) fee. I am printing EVERYTHING up before I go. As for the ceremony music- I was told by another bride (don't remember who) that the resort has a system that you can use if you want to bring your own CD. I would ask them though just to be sure!.

So how long on average did it take for them to get to you for your first email correspondence? I have heard 1-2 months but wanted to get a more detailed idea from the brides that have already been contacted!!

Are there any past brides that used the resort photographer can tell me more about them? I would love to hear about the packages they offer and the quality of the work. Do you get to meet with them prior to the ceremony? Or does anyone know of any local photographers that I wouldn't need to fly in?

Vlvetter check out the link below, some of the brides have names some local photographers.

I think the resort photographer is called Calypso, from what I read befroe all the brides had godo experience with them. From what I know they are much cheaper than getting an outside photographer. But I personally ended up going with an outside photographer just because I loved his work and I am not much of a poser so I wanted someone who was real good at taking candid shots.

Velvetter- that is definitely a good thread for a lot of photogs- mine are in there too! When I was looking for mine, I just took a big chunk of time, went through the RM/Cancun Vendor area of this forum, and just checked out all of their websites. I don't know when your wedding date is, but I suggest booking them as far in advance as you can. My date was orignialy July 6, but by the time I got to Elizabeth in October (still 10 months from our wedding!) she couldn't do that date because she was booked the day before. So I had to change our date to the 7th, even though STD's had been sent out. Not a huge deal (though at the time I was distraught!) but still something to keep in mind.

Thanks Jen!

Ael contacted me right at the 2 month mark- so it will prob be any day for you Samira!

I am using Blue Lens Caribe for an outside photographer- They are located in Playa Del Carmen- I have set everything up through emails with Dennis- He has been SOO great to work with! He really let me customize a package- I didnt want video and we worked it out so I get a TTD instead- Awesome! He was also pretty reasonable. Here's his Website Playa del Carmen Wedding Photographer in Riviera Maya | Bluelenscaribe

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
