By the way Chloe I contacted wedrockers I hope they quote us sth reasonable! we just want them for the day of the wedding.

Also we loved your wedding colors so much that I am not rethinking my wedding colors. My website/invitation and STD was pink and brown! However now I am thinking maybe I will get blue for sashes and I was going to take few decorating items such as candles etc and was thinking of getting blue candles. Since we decided not to have a bridal party it will be easy for us to chage colors :-)

Regarding the Mariachi, I really didn't think they were cheesy at all. And I absolutely hate any kind of cheesy-ness. I would describe it as festive, and really a once in a lifetime thing. We had our first dance and dances with our parents to their music, since we weren't having a private reception we didn't have any other way of having one. It was actually really fun and I think our guests all really loved it. I'm not sure how it would be without any kind of music, but I think having them added a lot to the cocktail hour.

The chair bows, in retrospect, are something I could have done without. They were very inexpensive though, and I like the splashes of color.

Chole sorry to bombard you with so many questions. I just heard from Rafa (wedrockers) and he said individually their rates start at $3500 but more if i get more than one person. I dont really have anything to compare this too. if you dont mind me asking does this seem reasonable. did you get any kind of price list from them if yes would you please send them to me or any other details! my address is samiraandphilip@gmail.com

thanks a lot in advance!

Ok so here's the latest on my sit-down dinner debacle with Ael...so irritated with her right now that I'm not even emailing her back!

My last email to her was to tell her that I don't mind choosing all of the courses for everyone, EXCEPT THE ENTREE...I asked her if we could at least offer the filet and chicken, so everyone has a choice. Her response:

"Hi Katie,

Ok, we will offer you both options.

I just need your help for this matter:

- Please send us your guest list with their dinner preference in advance, so our chefs know how many main dishes of each.

- On the other hand, we need to identify who wants chicken and who wants mignon to avoid having our waiters go around asking each person. May I suggest to bring seating cards with names and have someone in your group place them for you 30 minutes before the reception dinner. Please bring the place cards, seating plan and table numbers and holders. (Note: we do have holders but are not at all fancy). We will provide you with a table at the entrance of the restaurant to show your seating plan to your guests."

Is she freaking serious!? I leave in less than 24 hours! I'm not going to go crazy contacting all 75 guests to ask them what they want for dinner!!! And I'm definitely not doing a last minute seating chart!!!

Ahhh! Now I just have to convince FI too.... don't think it's going to happen though. I planted the seed last night by saying a couple of you are doing it.... we'll see!

OMG Katie are you freaking KIDDING MEhuh.gif Sorry to rephrase but does she really think that you will be contacting 75 people and making placecards and table numbers?? What gets me the most is that you've been asking about this for awhile, and maybe could have pulled it off. Not that it's right. But now she's like, okkkkaaayyy FINE.

Ok**breathe** (I'm talking to you and me here wink.gif) This is something that you're not even going to remember when all is said and done. Your wedding is going to be fabulous, and a filet or chicken could never ruin it!! I cannot believe you leave so soon!!!! I Can't WAIT to hear all about it and see pics! Have a wonderful flight, and perfect wedding!! thewave.gif

Katie I am so sorry that Ael being so ridiculous!!! dont stress and maybe this will be a detail that wont matter after all is said and done. maybe when u go there they will give you the option regardless.

Ladies I got some more specific price quotes from wedrocks if you are interested let me know and I can email it to you or you can contact the photographer directly. Their price is way over my budget but I will just talk to the FI to see what he think! I am pretty sure he will say "no". but oh well i will try.

Thanks Jannae and Samira! You're right...the lack of dinner selection definitely won't ruin my day...I just can't believe the the day before I leave she finally says ok, lol! Oh well...I will just see what happens with I get there. Worst case scenario, I will just go back to the buffet so that everyone has options!

Katie-Wow that is unbelievable. I don't get it because if they were serving dinner that night, they wouldn't know who was ordering what. So strange. Make sure you print off all the emails so she can't go back on what she told you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
