Ladies, I love the pictures of your dogs! We have an English Bulldog and he is ridiculously spoiled!

Good news: Talked to my dad today, and it looks like him and I are going to do a father/daughter trip to visit the Riu resorts. Anyone getting married in April? We will hopefully be there April 8th-13th. We are going to stay at RPLA but will def. be visiting RPRM! I feel a sense of relief that I'm going to be able to visit the resorts. Hopefully a wedding coordinator will have time to meet with me.

One last thing, anyone doing P90x to get in shape? I started last summer and loved it. I was really skeptical at first but it really does work. Let me know if anyone else is currently doing it or going to start, so we can support each other!

Amber-I want to do P90x, but haven't spent the money yet. I think I may invest over the summer b/c going to the gym is going to be harder with the dog and my fiance has his own landscaping business and can't be home for her after work. I'll let you know if I do get it. Also, other previous brides have gone on site visits. I would highly recommend that you make an appointment now with the wedding coordinators at both resorts. I remember one of the brides was going down last minute to do a site visit and didn't schedule with the wedding coordinator in time and she almost didn't have a meeting with her.

Jannae-We are so fortunate because we do have about an acre of land. I saw the cutest great dane at the dog park so I was trying to convince my FI to let me get one since we have enough. He just laughed. Guess not!

Hello ladies!

I've gone through this ENTIRE thread... and I feel like I know each of you personally!

Obviously you don't know me.

I'm Adrienne... and I'm going to be a RPRM bride June 25 2011. / <--- A long road ahead!

I've had so many many questions answered in this forum... I feel totally prepared for whatever will come my way. Now it's just the saving $$ part.

Hoping to do that too by being a budget savvy, creative bride!

These are my STD postcards that I made on Zazzle.com.... looks like I'm saving about $200 more than I thought I'd be spending.

I'm going through destinationweddings.com... and while I've heard some people think it a nightmare... I'm actually finding I'm getting pretty good help. (Though in a later post I'd like to compare notes with my group agreement).

My guests have to RSVP on my website... so hopefully I won't be chasing anyone down!

And brides on destinationweddings.com are now getting extras for booking a # of guest rooms, like a free cocktail reception and free stay for a site inspection before the wedding. I'm hoping to book 30 rooms (I might have more... we have an invitation list of 300... but more like 100 might actually go).

Picked my theme... the flower Bird of Paradise!

Orange and Blue

Does anyone know how much extra it would be to have these flowers in the bouquets? (Both bride and bridesmaid)?

Can't wait to get to know all of you!!!

Adrienne-Welcome! I would think you would have to find out if those flowers are locally carried in Mexico. From what I thought you could only have a choice of local flowers?? Maybe someone that has already married there can give your insight.

So I'm having a hard time making a decision. My FI and I are equally both not photogenic! Really, you should of seen us trying to take a picture for our website. So anyway, I"m not really picky on a photographer because of this. I LOVE the way TTD sessions look. I don't want to use the resort photographer for that b/c I'd love to do it at a Cenote. I contacted a outside photog that can do it for me for what I think is a responsible price, but with so many other expenses I can't decide if I should spend the extra money... My FI is no help! What do you girls think?

So to answer Shelk too...I'm definitely getting SO excited!!!

Welcome Adrienne!

Dana- If you can afford to do the TTD pictures, than I definitely would! You'll have them forever! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
