Hi Ladies,

I was reading the thread “Customs in Mexico: an effort to gather the info in one thread!” where they mention bringing receipts with us for items we are putting in our OOT bags as well as putting notes in your suitcases in Spanish saying items were for a wedding, not for resale. I had not thought about that before so thought I would pass the information along. It’s a good thread to check out if you haven’t already.

Shelk: I hope you are having a fabulous time at your wedding!

I have my legal day Feb. 24th and leave Feb. 27th for Mexico

Yay Mrs March! Are you all ready to rock and roll? How exciting to be so close. Thanks for that reminder link. I came across it awhile ago, and totally forgot about it.

Katie- how did the fitting go? I just found out that my dress just came in!! I'm going to pick it up next Friday- I can't believe it got here so early.

Do you know if we need to bring any of the legal stuff to RPRMhuh.gif
I was told that we won't get the official documents back from our legal day until 6-8 weeks after we actually do the civil ceremony. ahh, in that case i hope we don't need them for the resort!

Learning more and more every day not to sweat the small stuff. It's all small stuff!! :)

MrsMarch - Wow, your wedding is coming up fast!! can't wait to hear all about it and see your pictures!! Are you all ready to go?

As for the reciepts for all your OOT bag stuff, I made 1 reciept that included everything on it just on excel...I didn't want to be pulling out tons of receipts. I didn't make a spanish version of it either. We had no issues though, they did look through our stuff more but thats all. My sister brought my mugs for me and she had to pay $25, no biggie though.

Also, if you are just having a symbolic ceremony at the RPRM and you are already married before you go (or getting married when you get back) you do not have to bring any kind of documents.

If you have any other questions, ask away!!

I HAVE TO SHARE EXCITEMENT!!!

When we orignially booked it was for 410 a night, pretty much for everyone. I just looked on the Riu website and the time for my wedding has gone down to 298 a night!!!!! Contacted my TA, and she adjusted the rates for my whole group that has booked with her so far!

Just saved $875!!

I think if you have booked straight through the hotel, you also can get the adjustment. Just a thought for everyone! yay!

KimmyG: I am having a religious ceremony, so do not need to worry about anything legal….well at least woot.gifin terms of the ceremony in Mexico smile29.gif

Ael sent me the separate menu they offer if you have a private reception ($1900) w/ table service ($25 per person- otherwise the private reception is buffet style). I thought I would share with you all in case you were considering this:

You can make your own menu choosing one option of each time course:

SOUP OR CREAM: Broccoli Cream OR Yucatan style lime soup with chicken

ENTREES: Ham with melon OR Smoked Salmon

MAIN COURSE: Rib eye a Maitre d´hotel, Fillet mignon, Chicken Breast with papaya and mango sauce OR Surf ad Turf Skewer

DESSERT: Crepes with vanilla ice cream OR Peach Melba: ice cream, peach and strawberry sauce

I hope everyone has a nice Valentine â€s Day! My fiancé surprised me w/ an early gift; diamond huggie earrings!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
