shellk - have a blast tonight!!

Jannae - The staff will setup anything you need for the ceremony, like chair bows and fans. As for the reception we had to get a couple friends to put out the maraca favours for us. They just went a 1/2 hour before the dinner and put them all out. I think if you pay them though they will do whatever for you.

I also love the idea of having the knot instead of the bow if you are going to go with them, very cute!

JNagan2011 - Have a great time dress shopping!!

Thanks for the suggestion of just saying feb 2011. But I still don't understand how it seems you can book a 2011 date on the website but the email we got from the sales exec said otherwise.

How many weddings do the do a day?

What is the latest time for the wedding? I don't want to have hours to kill before everyone can eat.

jrb - why don't you just book it yourself online? I just went to the site and put in a feb. 12, 2011 as the date and it let me, so maybe try that out. The latest ceremony time you can have is 5pm. Keep in mind it is dark by 6pm though so after the ceremony you would only have about 20-30 minutes for pictures.

They may also offer a complimentry semi-private cocktail hour in between the ceremony and reception or you can pay to have a private one. Also, you have to have at least 60 people to have a private reception that starts at 6:45pm. Well at least thats how it was for me. If you have less then 60 the private reception starts at 8:45pm.

Hopefully this info helps you.

Yes. That was very helpful. I think I am going to do just that---just to ease my mind. As for the later wedding time, we may just do photos before the ceremony, but I can work on those details later. I for sure want to sun to shine!! Thanks for all your tips as they have been very helpfull.

Kimmy- congrats on the degree!

Also to all of the other girls in further education. That is awesome. Takes a lot of work!

Yeah, I think I’m going to not do the bows….. the beach and flowers should do the trick just fine!

I totally agree with Jen, Shellk!! Tired + Alcohol= extra loopy and less $$ on drinks  have a blast!!!

Thanks for the info, Lisa- I have been totally stressing about that. It completely eases my mind…

Jrb- I was thinking the same thing about the time in between---- my ceremony is at 5pm, then if our dinner is not until 845---- people are going to be hammered, kids will be tired, etc. BUT- maybe we can do the cocktail hour, people can go freshen up, relax, work up an appetite. Don’t worry- I’m sure everything will work out fine. I’m not sure how many weddings they do in a day….a couple I think…

haha very nice Shellk... you know its a good night when there is dancing on the tables! Well I had a sympathy hang over for you today expect I had to work through it, although I wish I was on the couch all day instead! Good luck with all the packing, do you have lots of stuff where you will need to check extra bags?

Ladytrunck- I love those table decorations- is that one vase or several put together- where did you get them? Are you also taking the candles down? I also love the chair bow knot, I agree they aren't necessary with the scenery, but I personally think they add a special, personal touch.

ShellK, Glad to hear you had a great night!

I finished my invitations and will have them in the mail tomm.

Lisa, did you bring your ceremony music on cd or ipod or use theirs? Also, did you have a sand ceremony? (if you want a sand ceremony do we need to bring our own set up, or do they offer one at a reasonable price?)

jen can't wait to hear how dress shopping went!

At last, I found a resort that I want to have our wedding at! Thank-you for all your posts, I found it extremely helpful and couldn't be more excited about finally picking a resort. I know my guests will be too. Josh and I plan to get married in either January or February of 2011. I'm going to call a travel agent tomorrow to see what month is less expensive. Anyone recommend a travel agent? I'm currently working a wedding specialist with destinationweddings.com, however, she has made me very frustrated. Anyways, I look forward to getting to know all of you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
