Has anyone else encountered this. The ta did not go through the website but emailed them directly. I am confused cause it looks like on the site the 2011 dates are up and running. I guess they need to wait and see when the judges are availble, but all we are requesting is a date. Shouldn't they be around everyday to preform a wedding?!

Also I see the dinner seatings are not till 845. What does everyone do after the ceremoney?? Seems like a lot of time.
im not 100% sure but i know i have seen the same problem on here before and no resorts take bookings more than 12mths in advance.i would try again mid feb.

they do have a sitting at 6.45 as well depending on the size of your party.

Ok. The waiting is just so hard. Especially since we want to start telling people. Ah a 645 seating would be much better but it's looking like we will have a large crew with us. Prob 50 people. Oh well. I guess that is a small price to pay.

There's enough time to do luggage tags, Lisa! Well, I guess with your work and school- maybe not! I have also heard of brides giving them with OOT bags for the trip home.

Thanks for the compliments on my puppy! He is truly the most precious little guy. If you like little dogs, a papillon is the way to go. They are smart, quiet and obedient. And CUTE!

Thanks for the encouraging words Shellk. It just seems so overwhelming sometimes!

MrsMarch- ah, I love shoe shopping. I do most of it online since I live in a smaller city. I guess it really depends on what you are looking for. I got mine from zappos.com. They have a HUGE selection, free shipping, and if you don't like them, they take them back no questions asked. Wow a month!! Exciting!

jrb- I know, the wait is probably the hardest part next to finding a resort. If you want to let your guests know though, maybe send an STD saying something like "Wedding is Feb 2011, will communicate date asap" I have seen a lot of other brides do this. Also, I think that even with your party size, you might be able to get an earlier seating, but I think that has to wait until you get there and you can ask.

Ok- now I have a question. Does anyone know (or remember reading about it) who does the ceremony and dinner set up? As far as chair bows, favor pass out on the chairs, table decorations for dinner, etc?

LadyTrunck- I was just wondering about ceremony set up as well. I keep seeing those lantern ball decorations on here and wondering if those are worth it to make it look more festive? Or what other decorations should we bring? I was thinking about bringing chair bows just so I could assure the colors I want.

I feel SOOO behind, actually a little stressed! The only thing I have done is picked out BM dresses, invitations are done but I haven't mailed them out, OOT bags...haven't started, and I have a list of ideas I havent gotten to. This weekend is going to be the beginning of the 'getting stuff done phase'!!

Don't feel stressed Paige- I totally understand where you're coming from, and I feel that if I can just do a little here and there, it will all get done. I just did about 10 more luggage tags tonight! I am bringing my table decorations, which are a bit heavy:

but the fam will help with transport. The biggest concern for me, is that we're putting LED lights inside the vases to light them up, and those have to be put together right before the set up. Don't know if I can ask the resort to do that! I'll also have maracas with guests names as place settings, and a personalized hot sauce bottle for each couple.......

Also, for the ceremony, I have fans to put on the chairs, and I'm still considering chairbows..... I think they're super cute, but I have also seen beach weddings with only flowers and chair covers, and it's simple elegance. Oh why do I put so much thought into these things!??! I feel like I'm going to look back at this and realize how silly I was to be stressed over nothing....

Last- I went back to read Desiree's (TylersGirl) review and she mentioned that the staff did the chairbows and fans for her. SO maybe we'll be ok :)

opinions ladies---- chairbows for the beach or no? This is my inspiration, I like this knot because it's not a 'bow' and they would be fuschia with a diamond pin in the middle....or nothing.

Jannae- I really like the bow, you're right I think its because its the knot and not actually being a bow that makes me really like it ( a little different :))! However, I agree with the simple elegance. I know one of the reasons I chose a destination wedding was because of how special and beautiful the palm trees, ocean and beach would make the most important day of our lives! So for me, I plan on letting the palm trees, ocean and beach do all the work in making my ceremony perfect. It is a hard decision because the bows add just a little something extra in the pictures I've seen which makes me want them But when I really think about my sister's DW, I cannot even remember what the chairs even looked like and I am sure a lot of the other guests felt this way. Sorry that got wordy :)

jrb- I agree about doing the save the dates with Feb 2011 and more information to follow. This will allow people to start planning and saving. Once, you have the date locked in, you can let your guests know the exact time.

Well on a separate note, I am going to try on dresses on Sunday! :) Really excited, even though I am super indecisive and have no idea what I am looking for, but it just seems like a really fun next step! :)

Thanks JNagan! I think that's exactly what I needed to hear. I was leaning towards none, but then kept seeing all of these pics with them. The beautiful backdrop of the ocean is the best decor I could ever hope for. And you're right--- you don't even know how much I've edited stuff because I know I never remembered any of it from previous weddings!!!

Good luck on the dress shopping!!!! I went in to try on ONE dress. Then ended up with a style that I totally thought I would never get (strapless, lace, train...) I don't know why, but I was SO nervous when I went! Hopefully, you're experience will be 120% better than mine. But hey- I found the perfect dress! Let us know how it turns out.

Jannae- your pup is adorable!! The chairbows look nice but remember that the chairs don't look like that at RPRM.

Katie- I didn't realize that you've been in contact with Ael already! I must have missed that somehow. WOW, i'm right behind you!! When did she contact you?

Grad school girls- what are you studying? I'm finishing my pharmacy degree this june, yay!

MrsMarch4- i'm not sure about getting the live music for other parts of the night. I wanted the band for the cocktail hour so i will look into it. I know that they charge for 45 min so having them at the reception could get very expensive very quickly.

Haven't gone dress shopping yet so not expecting too much. Plus I am having my mom, my two sisters, my FMIL and my FSIL so there is a crew of us. I have a feeling way to many opinions will be flying around so my mom and I are going to go later just the two of us. I just didn't want to leave anyone else for the first round, hopefully everything goes good though :)

KimmyG- I'm going for physical therapy! Congrats on the pharmacy degree my sister and brother-in-law both graduated last year and are now pharmacists. I know how hard that program is so its awesome you are so close to being done!

Shellk- have fun with the hen night :), i've found being tired and alcohol a very good mix lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
