Does anyone know what a resonable price is for 5 days at RPRM? I want to make sure I am not putting my guests in a bad position by chosing a more expensive resort. I was thinking 1000 per person for 5 days including flight. Does that seem realistic for RPRM?

Katrina, welcome to our thread!
I think the price depends a lot on where you're flying from. For us (coming from Cincinnati) it seems like a 3-night trip (Thurs-Sun) is about $850, 4-nights is about $1200. I'm not sure about 5-nights but it's definitely more than $1000/person/including flight&insurance.
With that in mind, it's also the nicest resort in the area and you won't be dissapointed. You don't want to stay at a cheaper resort and have everyone look at the amazing resort next door and wonder why they aren't staying there!

Katrina~ Welcome! I am in the guest booking phase and just wanted to let you know the prices we have found and been given by the travel agent are around $950 just for the resort for 5 nights per person (based on 2 ppl per room)- and flights are pretty pricey from texas right now, around $450- so around 1500 per person - to say the least a lot of people who thought they wanted to go and we wanted to go arent going to be able to afford it. Especially with the hotels 80% rule this is something you should really put some thought into ahead of time- I wish I had! i probably would have chosen a place that was a lil cheaper or allowed the guests to stay where they wanted just to ensure more could come.

I have my guests flying from Newark/JFK and have not found many resorts that are under 1,000 for 5 nights. I was quoted a few resorts for 3 nights for around 800.00 but not five.

Thanks for the replys. I was hoping to get 5 days/4 night for around 1000 a person. I am not getting married until July 2011, so I feel my guests have a long time to book a cheap flight, then hopefully we can book the rooms at 350 per night. The planner from Destination Weddings said that 350 per night is definately possible. Also, we will probably have around 60 people at the wedding, and I am more concerned about families being able to afford it, so I am thinking to suggest that they stay at Riu Palace Mexico and just hang out at RPRM. Does any of this make sense?

Hey everyone,

Just a few more questions...if you have over $40 people, do they just start charging a per person price? if so, what is that cost?

also, what is the deal with getting a private room for the dinner/reception? All I keep reading about it semi-private?

Meeting with a travel agent on Wednesday then ready to BOOK IT!!

Thanks, Jenna

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
