I was just wondering if anybody out there has planed or is planning a dw for more then 60 people...My Fi and I have extremely large family's, we knew we wanted a dw, even though it would be big but now were worried that this might be getting out of control? Any help would be great, we have a guest list of 150+ people and we already know over 50 will be coming...are we over our heads?

We might make it up to 60 people (I actually hope we don't!). Not because of the out of control thing but we just wanted a small wedding and because of the reception cost. There are quite a few gals that I've seen who have had up to 80 or so and they had a fabulous time. Depends on your group of people I guess! Just don't feel responsible for all of them, that's the part that would get me I think!

We have large families... we will likely have a larger Mexico wedding. We are sending out invites to over 300 people.

... we are planning on doing our wedding at Moon Palace because you can "earn" private functions with a certain number of rooms booked.

I just responded to you on that thread -- in your case, I'd definitely get a TA to help handle the logistics of all the people.

Hope that helps.

We also wanted a large wedding but after doing calculations of all the expenses we are hoping we can cut it to at least 25-30 and do everything I want including little things that are pointless to have but will just make the wedding a little special. We decided to splurge on gifts for our guests and have an open bar all night. It gets pretty pricey

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm curious what reception venues you all used to accomodate up to 100 guests? I posted the question but got no replies. We are planning a site visit to Playa del Carmen in mid-August and do not plan on staying at a large AI resort so we're looking for restuarants, event centers, beachclubs...

Thanks!

My wedding was at the FA Condesa but my guests stayed in different hotels

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
