This is really the one thing that I have not even thought about. Seriously, do I need a video of the wedding? And do you think I would even still be able to find a videographer? How long do you hire them for?

we decided this is one thing we could live without in a way. We are going to set up a few cameras on tripods around the church and then record our vows using a digital voice recorder. I am not planning to try to match them up, but we are both pretty good with computers so we will make our own slideshow and maybe use our vows as part of the voice over? not entirely sure yet, but professional videography was not in our budget.

After Janety's great review of Marcie we have hired her for our June wedding. I think the $750 price is very reasonable for an edited video plus all the raw footage. If you can afford another grand than I think it's worthwhile! When it'sd all said and done, the money spent, the dress worn, the food eaten you're going to walk away with an amazing husband, some gorgeous photos and perhaps a video of your special day...

I had three personal camera's (my sisters, mine and my sister-in-laws) set up. One from each side and one in the middle of the aisle. My mother-in-law is a teacher at the local high school and actually teaches the video-graphy class! We were so lucky! She took the three tapes and cut them together, put some photos in where the video wasn't good, and added some music. It is so awesome to look back at the day!

She also made one version that is extremely cut to the important parts only - I think it 10 minutes long or less. This is the version that we showed at the AHR and show if anyone wants to see it. Nobody really wants to see the 30 minute version other than us.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
