Chris & Rebecca: A tale of love, Christmas & ferrets

With Chris & Rebecca’s wedding less than a month away, I figured it was time to adulterate her engagement story

Ahem…

Rebecca & Chris were travelling to the west coast to take Nibblets to see his family for Christmas. Morgan hates car trips & Nibblets doesn’t like to fly, so Rebecca was nice enough to volunteer to drive him.

They went a few days early to spend some time in Leavenworth WA at one of Nibblet’s favorite inns.

They arrived and got settled in, went to dinner & wandered thru the village. When we got back to the inn, Rebecca & Chris wouldn't let Nibblets play in the snow - only one snow ferret!! Nibblets thought they were being a total grinch...

They went upstairs to their room - which has a big fire going in the fire place, wine & Christmas music playing.

They all had a glass of vino & snuggled on the sofa. Then Nibblets shuts off the music and says he wants to watch Animal Planet (!!!!!). Chris says "do you hear that?" and goes out on the balcony. How fabulous!!! Carolers!! And they proceed to sing all of Nibblets favorite Christmas songs!

Nibblets gets so excited that he starts singing along.

When they are done, the innkeeper turns on a sign - "Rebecca Marry Me?" in Christmas lights, out in the field, with 3 feet of snow to reflect the lights.

Nibblet’s cousin Rolf had actually built it for Rebecca!

Rebecca burst into tears, Chris got down on one knee, it was fantastic!

And, because all good stories have a punchline (and a ferret), while they were out on the balcony, they left the door open and reversed the draft in the fireplace.

One of the carolers asked if Rebecca said yes. Chris replies "Good news is she said yes... bad news is that we've set off the fire alarm & the fireferrets are already on their way!”

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Glad you liked it. That is the reaction I had to the story you made me. Both laughing & crying tears.

Putting this together yesterday got me in the Christmas spirit. Then last night I went to a party to celebrate all the July birthdays. The theme was Christmas in July. It was perfect :)

That is great!

Rebecca, I never read your engagement story, but it sounds like it was a perfect evening, albeit smoky.

I'm sure your wedding will be equally memorable. Any plans on how to smuggle Nibblet into Mexico to be your ring ferret?

I showed it to Chris. He looked at me like I was certifiable and asked what was up with the ferrets. Classic! Meanwhile I was laughing like a hyena.

Morgan is working on training him to lay perfectly still around the back of her neck. I'm going to smuggle him in as a stole!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
