Harty...I contacted several photogs in Cancun for a TTD and two that I can think of were super affordiable.

We are going with Martha Roque...her sunrise TTD photos are amazing (so are her mid-day ones)...if you want the names of the companies and the prices I was quoted, PM me your email address.

We're also using the resort photog, so the prices I got were JUST for a TTD

The TTD rates will probably vary considerably depending on the photographer. Make sure to find someone who you like and really love their work, but also a photog who is into TTD sessions.

I would definitely do it if you can. Especially if you don't really like getting your photos taken normally. There's something about getting a newly married couple in a beautiful location that really brings out the best in the couple (I'm a pro photog). The love is just flowing :)

You'll have a blast and they will probably be some of your favorite photos! It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Some resort photographers can be pretty good for that type of thing - we got some beach shots of us at a resort the day we got engaged (before I'd ever heard of TTD or anything) and I love them and they are pretty steamy, totally could have been TTD if we had been wearing our wedding clothes and not our bathing suits. Anyways, I thought that resort photographer was really good (I was at the Punta Cana Princess in case anyone is wondering). I paid 10$ per print that I bought (I only bought 5). The CD was more expensive. They changed like 200$ for an actual longer photo session (this was only like a 10 minute session because I told him I only planned on buying like 2-3 pics)

I think you should plan on the resort photographer charging like 200-400$, hopefully at the lower end of the scale (many of them only charge like 500$ for wedding pictures and TTD takes less long).

Of course if you don't want to take a risk with quality and price it would be better to get in touch with somebody externally who actually answers your emails! But if all their prices are too high (I expect that most would be higher than the resort photogrpaher) than you can just take a chance and wait and see for the resort photographer and as a back-up, get a friend to do it. Just show that friend lots of great ideas from pictures on here. I think with TTD it's slightly less important to have an awesome photographer and amazing quality prints since you are less likely to blow up the photo and hang it in your living room and all the other stuff that you do with wedding photos. (Don't get me wrong, I think it's worth splurging on TTD photos, but I'm just saying if I had to cut back on either the wedding photos or the TTD photos I would cut back my budget for TTD because you'll get lots more use out of your wedding photos).

it's a great way to make memories and get a chance to play in your dress! I'm sure you can find a reasonable rate as TTD sessions are still fairly new and a ot of photographers are wanting to do them for portfolio reasons. I would look up photographers in the area and get a bunch of quotes I bet theres a pretty big difference in price depending on who you ask!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
