Hello ladies! My mom has graciously offered to DIY our invites, and we're trying to decide on the color scheme. For the wedding itself, we want to do hot pink, mango and lime. We're using cardstock and pockets from Cards and Pockets. I personally love the hot pink and mango ones, but FI thinks there should be a complementary color (like the green) in there. We could add a line green ribbon-- maybe organza, or grosgrain? My mom likes both-- she thinks that the blue and sand colors are more beachy though. Your thoughts?

FYI there will be a real invitation at some point-- this is just to get an idea of the colors, materials, fonts etc.

I like the mango and pink. At first I thought I liked the other ones, but they are a little plain. Maybe if she found a more bright blue/teal to pop. Are you going to carry these colors through your wedding though, cause the mango and pink might be a bit challenging.

Yes, we are carrying the tropical colors through to the wedding. My inspiration is the tropical blooms of that part of Florida, like orchids, bougainvillea, poinciana, hibiscus etc. Also citrus fruit. There is an awesome layout in the latest Martha Stewart Weddings magazine that has a similar palette. Click on the one that says Tropical Punch.

It's funny-- my FI is not opposed to the pink and mango. His art-student self just wants to apply some color theory to our scheme, and add something complementary.

My heart is definitely pulling for the brighter scheme. I know it's not for everyone, but I love color.

I did hear back from my mom-- she likes the fuschia and mango ones too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
