Becks' planning thread **Pic Heavy**

Recommended Posts

Wow. I canâ€t believe itâ€s all come up so soon! Less than a month to go! Many of you have asked, and Iâ€ve really been excited about doing a planning thread, so here goes! I think all my templates are either attached to the first post, or are included in the linked threads.

If youâ€re in a hurry, donâ€t start in. I put this together in word before I posted it. Itâ€s 8 pages in word…Brace yourselves…

It all started with the proposal. Well, no. Actually it all started with a subway ride, but we can cut ahead to the good stuff. Hereâ€s the story:

And the ring:

My to do list, which I kept adding stuff to and couldnâ€t have survived without. I put a thread together a few months back, so if you want a monster to do list, you can pull it from here:

It went with a four-page letter to my 5 best girlfriends telling them why I loved them all. You know… all the mushy stuff.

Our pre-travel packets included one luggage tag per person, one brochure and one Spanish for dummies book:

I canâ€t find a photo of their shirts! Itâ€s a blue tropical print in silk and linen from Macys.

Gifts for the unofficial bridesmaids – jewelry bags (made by my fabulous mom!) and starfish necklaces (from Kohls):

My dress:

Click the image to open in full size.

This is from the first fitting, so it looks a little weird.

It’s a WToo dress (Watters and Watters) the style name is Adriana.

My ceremony shoes (if the sand is too hot to go barefoot) from Old Navy:

My reception shoes, from Dyeables, style name lovely:

I’ve clearly overplanned this stuff. There’s more…

Welcome dinner dress, from Dessy,

FIâ€s welcome dinner suit (although he may not wear the jacket) and shirt:

Welcome dinner menu card

Wedding dinner menu cards – each one is personalized for each guest with their names, table number, and menu selection. The bottom of the card is perforated and tears off to be handed to the waiter so he brings the right stuff (and yes, actually, FI is having the crispy shrimp and the rack of lamb):

Our cake inspiration – ours will have pink roses instead of the red callas – and will be Tres Leches:

Our Guest Non-Book – itâ€s a plate that has a special pen – everyone signs, then you take it home, bake it and the marker becomes permanent. I does say not to use it for food – I assume acids and such will damage the marker. Came from Target!

Our Guest Book (from Hallmark) – so appropriate!

These are the inside pages. I borrowed the idea from someone else, and tweaked it to fit the album from Hallmark. I canâ€t remember who it was, but thank you SO much!

The Welcome Books, ala Mandy – these are bound down the left side with a black coil, and have a clear plastic cover (front and back), the four pages per photo are cut, so 32 pages in all, I left out a bunch of the puzzle pages:

My borrowed starfish, from Morgan, replete with Nibblet:

The ceremony site – we will have a similar set up, except that the chairs will have bright pink organza ties on them, and the gazebo-thing will have pink and white lilies running up and around the front and top:

The bar, cocktail hour, and party venue – weâ€ll have it set up lounge style with a bunch of couches and a few cocktail tables:

Centerpieces on the cocktail tables, except with bright pink rose petals instead of orchids:

The restaurant where weâ€re having dinner – we arenâ€t changing much except that the tables will all be for 6 people, except for the kids table which will be for 8. (There are only 7 of them, so Iâ€ve laid claim to the last chair for when I get bored with grown-ups):

Okay… I think thatâ€s it! Iâ€m sure I forgot something… I'm going to add a blank post, just in case, so I can go back and add whatever I've forgotten.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
