Hello to all future brides!!

I'm new to this site and still trying to figure out how to navigate thru all this information! :) So much great advice!!!!!!!

I was just wondering if there are any brides getting married or have been married in Puerto Rico??

We live in San Antonio,TX but my FI is from Puerto Rico so that's how we decided on the island.

I'm nervous about the resort we picked -El Conquistador- and the month -April- for a wedding.

Just looking for any addl information to soothe my concerns!

Thanks a bunch!smile159.gif

Hi, there are a few brides getting married in PR. I think I am the only active bride to be married in PR, I was just married June 26th. I don't know about El Conquistador. I was married at The Gallery Inn in Old San Juan. The weather is beautiful in April. No storms to worry about, a balmy 85 degrees most days. I used WedAffair for several things and LOVED Annibel. He took care of my paperwork, transported FI and I to the Demographic Registry for the license, and arranged my hairstylist. Again, I loved Caridad who did my hair. PM me if you have any questions. I will post a complete review soon.

Hi,

And congratulations! You have picked an exceptional hotel! The views are amazing, the private beach is gorgeous with a restaurant, bar and tons of water sports. There is always some activity going on if you like to mingle and be social. My only negative comment are the pricey ok restaurants. You can venture out of the hotel take a right and follow that rode to a wide variety of restaurants that serve good food and reasonable prices... my fav was "la estacion" The station... a couple from ny opened this restaurant and have the best bbq pork around. As for the weather PERFECT time of year... breezy not to hot or humid.

Have a wonderful wedding and may your lives be filled with years of health, joy and true happiness.

Thank you Lisa! I appreciate your honest opinion!

We have been to the resort (once) and with no rental car we had to suck it up and eat at the resort. -SUPER EXPENSIVE!!!!! That will be the first thing we will mention to our guest. We plan on visiting PR again soon and this time we will rent a car and check out our local options.

Thanks Lisa!

My original plan was to get married in PR since that is where we got engaged, but I changed all the plans after a sudden death in my family.

I loved PR, and the El Con is a stunning resort. A friend of mine got married there a few years ago and still raves about how wonderful it was. You made an excellent choice, and that is a great time of year as well.

Congrats and happy planning!

Have you contacted the resort?

Yahaira in catering is AWESOME!!! She's a "no pressure" type of woman!

I adore her! If you call the hotel & ask to speak with her let her know Samantha Gallegos referred you! She will get a good laugh! I'm in contact with her ALL the time! The best part about it, is that she has lots of information & she does not expect you to book anything immediately. You know how some people are all about the sale? She is all about pleasing the customer & that's what I like best about her. She will even give you a significant discount on a room at the resort just so you can go and see for your self if El Conquistador is right for you!

Please let me know if you need anything!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
