We spent $30 on FI ring, but their's a catch... He took a jewelery class in college so all he had to do was buy the gold and then he literally made his own wedding band. We have a friend that's a jewler, and when he made my engagement ring he made a few adjustments to FI wedding band at no cost. It's a nice ring, 5 mm tall and about 2 or 3 mm wide. He loves it, and it means a lot since he made it on his own. His dad is an engraver so I was thinking about using his machine to engrave something on the inside of his ring (of course at no cost :) )

We havent bought my FI's ring yet, but I have a couple questions after reading this thread. My guy is a mechanic so will his ring will probably get banged up (if he even decides to wear it to work!)

I am confused on the diff between titanium and tungsten...The one thing that scares me is that the ring can't be cut off his finger if something were to happen. Which one is it that can't be cut? And does titanium scratch up easily? I have read that too. Any suggestions that will end my confusion will be appreciated! Thanks ladies.

We have looked at rings, and my FI is SO picky! LOL He is much fancier than I am. He wants to have a diamond in it, so the cost will go up. But he has HUGE fingers,so we need to order a custom ring, that is thicker than average so it is proportionate to his hand, making the diamond bigger too. The guy who designed mine quoted him around $1100. I thought that seemed high for a guy's ring, but with a diamond I guess that's right. And it's going to be his only wedding ring, so I guess we'll have to find the money to splurge.

We got my fiance's ring on Amazon for $35. We went shopping and he just liked the simple domed tungsten the best. Saw it online at Amazon and...ta da. Good too, because we only went over our budget for both of our rings by....umm...$35. Oops. Guess who was responsible for breaking the budget......

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
