When did everyone start purchasing things for their OOT bags? I was at Big Lots (a closeout store) today and I found so many things for awesome prices, but I didn't know it they would be good in 22 months or not. So I ended up buying 10 packs of travel tissues with exotic flower prints for $1.00 and 10 mini notebooks for $2.00.

I invited 140 guests and bought about 100 of each item. Now that my guest list is more tailored, I figure if I have left over I can sell the stuff.

I started buying last month because I was reluctant like you but I just look at expiration dates and try to buy things that I know I can get more of if I need to. I started with pens, sticky notes, and hats from Vistaprint and recently my mission has been getting the Staples deal on mini Purell hand sanitizer (those expire in 2011 so I think I'm good haha!).

Our wedding is a year away, but i have started buying for our OOT bags. I figure if we get a little at a time it will be less of a shock to our bank account. i am holding off to buy snack, lotions, Meds and other things that do expire or evaporate.

  • 1 month later...

I have some time before our wedding, but I bought the one cent hand sanitizer from staples also. I figured if they go bad I can always buy a regular size and refill all the small bottles that I have. I was able to buy 100 of them. If you are able to refill the mini bottles I say go for it and buy them when they are on sale. (lotions, soaps, hand sanitizers)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
