I'm drained...Family update

Hey everyone. Sorry I've taken so long to update what's been going on. Life has handed me a lot lately.

Here are some updates on my family situations that so many of you have been very supportive of:

FFIL: FI's dad went through 6 chemo treatments in 5 days to fight the leukemia. He did very well and only reacted to one treatment--something called "Blue Thunder" that looked like dark blue ink. Scary. It's been about a week since his last treatment and he is doing pretty well. He actually has not lost any hair (yay, something positive!) and he's been dealing with a constant sore throat. He had a fever of 102 a few nights ago which can be pretty dangerous when you pretty much have no immune system. He had a reaction to the meds they gave him for it (something he'll have to take again, so now they have to give him something to counter that before he takes it), but that's really been the worst of it. I was at the hospital on Monday and he's in pretty good spirits.

What to pray for: That the chemo will put him into remission. If it does not, that his sister's bone marrow will match his.

FI's cousin: Alice will be going through her 3rd round of chemo for breast cancer today. (For those interested in more info on Alice, check out my siggy.) Her first two rounds went very well and her numbers have been up! Her parents flew out to California to help her out for the rest of the week since the chemo makes her really sick and weak.

What to pray for: That this round of chemo and the 4th (last) one will put her into remission. Also, that her foundation's third event at the end of the month will be successful.

New info: Yesterday, FI and I closed on our condo--something I haven't even had a chance to mention on this forum. A few hours later, I received a call from my mom that they're putting my grandmother (Nana) on Hospice.

What to pray for: Strength for my mom. Also for Nana to go quickly. She's so unhappy and uncomfortable and she says she's ready to see Papa again (my grandfather passed away 28 years ago). That's so hard to even say.

It just doesn't end. I feel like we're getting slammed with everything under the sun right now. I know I've been asking for a lot of prayers lately, but if nobody minds, I'm going to ask for more. I feel like my plate is just so full, I really can't handle anything else.

Thank you for listening and for all of the support you have given me. I will continue to update you all as things unfold.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
