Villa Del Arco Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi Girls,

I am getting married at Villa Del Arco in November - wondered if anyone else out there is working with the same hotel? They have recently improved in communication and responsiveness, I think because there might be some new management in the group coordination office.

I am having a reception at the beach front restaurant - La Perla and a lunch the day before and a brunch the day after, so given all this and the number of rooms my guests will book, I am trying to get room rates that are competitive - wondered if anyone else is going through the same?

Hi Suman,

My FI and I were in Cabo recently at look at Villa del Arco. We met with Gretel, the WC on site there and she was awesome! I agree that she does not reply to email very quickly, but she does reply eventually and with good info! The property itself if beautiful and the rooms are not too expensive! Also, the spa is the largest in Cabo (or so I was told)! We like it a lot and the only reason that we didn't go with it is because one of our other friends was married there recently and we wanted to do something a bit different. It really is beautiful though! Have fun planning & tell Gretel I said hola!

Hola,

Villas del Arco has 2 more properties, Villas del Palmar and other wink.gif, but villas del palmar its the cheapest one, so your guest can have price options for their stay.

also pretty near its medano´s beach, and all the fun bars by the beach, so your party wont spend $$$$ in caps which is GOOD. and it also walking distance to down town.

enjoy your planning!

Hey! Ok, so to respond to your question about the coordinator, yes, I have had problems with responsiveness for months now. I highly recommend having your own wedding coordinator in addition to Gretel, as she really is swamped all the time and travels a lot. She also tends to only answer some of the questions you ask. It helps when I list out my questions and number them. I also call when I feel like its been too long since I have gotten a reply.

Overall, they have a reputation of not being that easy to work with (I have heard this from multiple coordinators, my hair and makeup person, and other vendors LOL), but things do get done, so don't dispair!

I've planning on getting married at the Villa Group Resort, April 16th, 2009. Gretel has been great with inital information, now I'm just waiting for the contract, which I hope doesn't take too long. We're having the beach ceremony by Villa Del Palmar, and then the reception either at California Terrace or the terrace at La Perla or El Faro (del Arco). LOL can you tell we're still in the decision mode?

Thanks for the info about Gretel's schedule. Helps to understand what's going on ..on their side of things, so I can be a bit more patient.

I know I'm way behind compared to other brides getting married. But this forum really helps a lot!

Can anyone recommend a good outside wedding coordinator to help?

I sent a message via fiestas los cabos website, but still waiting to hear back from them. And I still haven't heard back from Gretel. I'm assuming because of the christmas and new year holidays she may be on vacation. confused.gifIt just stink having to wait without knowing what's going on.worried2.gif

Maybe this is a Cabo/Mexico thing.... I've been having a lot of problems with Casa Dorada's responsiveness (or lack thereof!). I have a friend who speaks fluent Spanish, and is very direct and organized. I actually had her call and talk to him, to make sure that the language barrier wasn't the problem. It seems to have gotten better since, so if you have any friends (or you) that are fluent give that a try!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
