Lizzy is right, about some make up products, like Mac makeup works fine with professional photography equipment, but take a snapshot and you will look like the dead, I have no idea why.

Try your makeup and take a digital snapshot in low lighting see if that makes you look pale, if not then your make will be fine.

Melissa I love the eye makeup.

I know I am being stubborn about this but I refuse, refuse to have makeup caked on the day of my wedding. I know it looks good for pics and all but I need to feel like me. I got my makeup done at Shiseido when I went to my high school prom and I hated it. I mean the woman did a nice job it wasn't the makeup artist's fault, it's just that I had so much foundation and looked scary white. Eeew I hate foundation (no offense to people who wear foundation, just my personal preference). And Christine I agree MAC can look weird. When I go to MAC the salespeople always look like it's halloween, they have so much makeup caked on. It looks like they have 35 layers of blue eyeshadow on. It's just too much for my personal taste. But Melissa the makeup looks perfect on you. Very pretty!

Melissa you look great! Oh crap I was going to Mac to have my makeup done. Is it just their foundation that does not photograph well. I dont wear a lot of makeup either, so I will have to make sure they dont make me look silly! I dont wear foundation, just a bronzer, so maybe I will be okay if I just stress that I want to look natural and beachy!!

I am just being honest if you are looking for a natural beachy look I would not go with MAC. Not that you can't obtain that look with their products b/c you can. They actually have great products and are good quality. (They are very expensive by the way, very expensive) However, their makeup is more like costume makeup. Picture 16 year old girls in dance recitals with blue eyeshadow, lots of foundation and blush, and lipstick. I think as long as you stress what you want they should be able to help you. They have beautiful pinks that go well with what you are trying to achieve, but I am warning you that they tend to go overboard and just do whatever they want anyway. If you don't wear a lot of makeup it might be too much for you. Not in a bad way, just that it can be overwhelming if your not used to a lot of makeup.

Well I don't want to discourage you from going to MAC. If you want to try it you def should. You never know they may have something you love. But I think Clinique or Estee Lauder has more reasonable makeup tips. It all depends on your style. I don't really wear makeup so I am not an expert on makeup I am just familiar with different styles. I only wear bronzer, mascara and lip gloss when I have special occasions. I don't do the whole black eyeliner and eyeshadow thing so I'm not the best judge of makeup. I use chanel and christian dior lip glosses and the benefits line tinted moisturizer and bronzer. I think you should try whatever you like and see which one works best for you.

Melissa the make up looks beautiful it really emphasizes your eyes. Those eyes are a gorgeous color and that shadow really pops them out. Blush and lips look good too.

Good work - you're lucky you have a sister that's good at that stuff.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
