Hi. Aruba, Grand Cayman or Mexico?

Hi. My name is Kathie and I'm new here. I don't have a definite date picked out but we're thinking October/November 2010 either in Cayman, Aruba or Mexico. That's one of the reasons I joined this forum. I'm trying to get as much information as possible. My fiance and I are traveling to Puerto Vallarta this October and next March we will be going to Aruba to check out possibilities.

This is my second marriage. I am 51 and want to have a nice wedding but nothing elaborate. We will probably be having 25-35 guests. Any one have any ideas, budgets they want to share? Thanks, Kathie

Welcome. You'll find tons of info about mexico on this forum. I can't recall any aruba or cayman brides, but I may have missed it.

I know some people have said they were first interested in aruba, but it was too expensive. but, if you know it's something your guests can afford it might be a great option.

oct/ nov is peak hurricane season & they say aruba is below the hurribane belt. Not sure about PV. I think that side is fine, but I'm not sure. I would think caymen would be at more risk during hurricane season.

Hi Morgan and Jamaicabride09. Thanks for the welcome. I'm really looking forward to getting my plans arranged. How long did it take you both to plan your weddings? I think you're right Morgan about the hurricane season, we have to look into that a little more. Thanks!

we were engaged exactly a year. I had been lurking on the forum a few months before we got engaged & had riviera mexico decided on for the location.

although I spent a year, it doesn't need to take a year. I could have done it much faster if I had less time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
