Trip Rates

Recommended Posts

I am not sure if I am posting this in the correct location so if you need to move it ok.

So I was wondering if anyone is running into this with the TA? We got quotes about 2 weeks ago and our TA encourged us to hold 25 seats on a flight so people would be locked in the rate, the price may go up $10 for charges. I was also quoted insurance prices which were $64 for under 34 and $83 under 59.

Now I had my mom and brother book the trip and my brothers trip was increased by $75 and my moms was increased by $87.30 I could see ok maybe the hotel changed so I am waiting to hear from the TA (I did check online sites and they have not so hmm) but I am really concerned about the insurance quotes by brother who is 30 was quoted $84 but I was given a quote of $64 and my mom was quoted $108, but I was quoted $83 for her. Is it normal for insurance rates to be increase often.

I want to be sure my guests are getting good prices, especially with the rates already being so high fryingpan.gif

We were given group insurance rates as long as so many people booked and got the insurance through them.

As for the trip, we booked 10 seats in order to get group rates, and we put peoples names in for them that we already knew were coming. Then as they offically booked themselves, they paid their deposit and that went towards my parents trip since they paid the deposit. A couple days before we booked the taxes went up by $10 a person, and then about a month later they went up by another $30 because of the fuel costs. The base price that we were quoted is still good for everyone that is going to book, but the taxes can fluctuate. Actually, the taxes dropped recently by $150 per person since they took the fuel surcharge off, but I don't think it is a permenant thing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
