OMG ... I'll be glad when this AHR is over!

Recommended Posts

Don't get me wrong - I **LOVED** my destination wedding. I had a fantastic time getting to know you girls, planning it and spending 2 weeks in Jamaica with family & friends in May.

I also know that I'll have a wonderful time at my AHR this weekend - just a casual Jamaican-themed cookout for 80 friends/family. However, I am so tired of planning stuff, having something to do every weekend, and always feeling like I'm running out of time ...

I'm looking forward to our lives going back to normal ... and to being able to spend our weekends lounging on the couch or doing whatever ...

Did anyone else feel this way after coming back from their DW? Maybe I'm just tired ... ?

I was so happy to be back and have nothing wedding-related to do. We were actually supposed to have an informal AHR party in June, but nixed it (we didn't send out invitations so it was easy to do). I just couldn't deal with any more wedding stuff.

But just think...it's almost over! And you will have a fabulous party this weekend!!!

OMG, I totally feel your pain. I wish I could cancel, I am so "over" all this wedding stuff. I don't care about the seating chart, or the seating arrangements, or the damn cake box. I want to go house-shopping in my free time, not make bamboo favors!

But I am like you, and I know that it will be fun while it's happening and i will be glad I did it, now I just wish it was over.

Yeah, we started off as a super-casual backyard thing. Had turned into a full fledged reception with just under 300 guests and now MIL wants to have a priest come in and do a ceremony!

Ummmm, that's why we got married in Jamaica, cuz we wnated something simple. I've just been avoiding that conversation. I told Matt if he wants it he can plan it and I don't want to know anything about it or have to do anything with it, cuz it's so damn last minute.

Oh, there were lots of things. Yup, like a month or two before, he wanted to turn the AHR into a big ceremony, then he told me I misunderstood him. Then 2 weeks before, his fam said they wanted a pre-nup to protect their business (we are going to do a post-nup in a few months, when we have more time), now they want a priest to be there and do a ceremony. I am like, whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
