I completely understand. I'd be in panic mode too in the next few weeks. That's just brutal frown.gif I hope that it opens and things go smoothly.

I just posted my dress in the dresses thread... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t85

If you want to post pictures, you need to have them uploaded online somewhere (so Facebook or Shutterfly or something online). Then you go to that picture online, right click and in Properties, it'll give you the address (something like http://.....etc). Then you go
address here and end with To post that pic. It's quite easy.

Here's a preview of my dress for this thread!

I love the colour - it's great antique kind of ivory. It's very romantic.
It fits almost perfectly too.
But I think I look fat when you look at the front view crybaby2.gif
I need to lose weight...
I love your dress. It is very soft and flattering for you! Absouletly PERFECT for you. So how did you feel once you put the dress on? I'm getting so anxious, but I won't have my final fitting until the first of November. It was a perfect fit when I ordered it, but have gained some weight since then (emotional eating smile27.gif) so I have to lose that weight before trying to get back into my dress.

I try and stay away from the "Show Me Your Dress" thread so that I won't become a 2 dress bride. There are so many beautiful dresses there!

It's so important to feel beautiful, I understand completely. Have you posted pics of you in your dresshuh.gif
Kevsgirl -- I LOVE your dress!!
The funny thing is, it's very similar to the first dress I bought...ivory lace...though mine is/was long...but yours looks so beautiful it almost has me re-thinking my decision AGAIN!smile105.gif
Seriously...I CANNOT look at that "show your dress" thread anymore...it's killing me!:-)

I haven't posted a pic of my dress (the second one anyway:-)) yet because the bridal store doesn't let you take pics when you're looking for a dress...I think now I've bought it I can, but I haven't been back yet:-)
I'm waiting to lose a couple pounds too before going for a fitting..haha:-)

My FI and I started this cleanse diet yesterday...Our downstairs neighbour did it and lost 15 pounds in two months...I'd be happy with even five pounds:-) So we'll see how THAT goes....

I went out yesterday and bought stuff for centerpieces...
The WC at my resort has NOT gotten back to me with what our resort offers for centerpieces! (ummm...I've only asked like ten times since July...)
Sorry -- she did send me one e-mail that had these dinky little things that were $100 each and I asked her if there were any other options, she sid yes, but hasn't actually ever sent them to me...

So, I gave up -- and bought stuff yesterday...and now have to figure out how the hell to get it all to Mexico!

Sigh:-)

So many things to comment on but don't have the patience to do the all quote!

Trying on a dress again:

- I picked my dress in May after only tryin gon about 20 dresses at one store. I kept goign back to it. Then in August I went in (not before) and tried it on again and ordered it. Then I came in to pick it up in November. So I've had in on just 3 different times.

I loved it when I saw it. It's just gorgeous. And I love the style. BUT I'm having issues with how it looks on me :crybaby:

I refuse to buy another dress. I will get a veil and shoes and see how it all looks together.

I'm jst praying at this point that I'll feel bridal and wonderful when it's all togehter.

Oddly enough, I put on a friend's veil after work today and that made me feel so good and bridal. Way more than putting on my dress :crybaby:

I don't know what to do frown.gif

Bringing centerpiece stuff to Mexico:

- I'm trying soooo hard not to get into doing that. So far I haven't bought anything really related to decoration. I will make name place cards and I'm goign to have boxes for a gift that will be at each place and the boxes will be decorated. I'm hoping that will bring a bit of colour to the tables, which will be just draped in white linens, from what I understand (free with cost of wedding).

I can't take having to pack millions of suitcases, let alone having to assemble all that stuff. I have enough going on with the OOT bags.

I hope I won't regret that.

So I am still freaking out about the dress crybaby2.gif I'm not sure why.

I mean, I know I"m stressed out with work and the wedding coming, but I really didn't think I would do this!

On Saturday I realized that i wasn't going to be able to get the BM dresses easily online and so I went to a bridal salon to see if they could deal directly with the manufacturers. I ended up wandering around and tried on 3 dresses, one of which I really liked. I realized then that the style I bought is not flattering, not like this other style: trumpet with a sweetheart neckline.

Here's the dress I really liked. They said that I could buy it off the rack, even though it is normally ordered. Also, it's a bit small so I'd need to put in a corset back. So many issues. Also it's way more expensive, but this was on sale right now...

(MINUS the nutty veil! LOL)

It gave me amazing curves... hugged me like crazy. I loved it! I also love the tulle below and the fact that it makes a statement. And it isn't 'cute' like my dress... frown.gif

I don't know what I'm going to do.

I'm going to try to get a hold of the place I bought my dress and ask if I could get a credit or something for the dress or some kind of exchange. I am not holding my breath. Then I could go in and see if they have anything like the one above.

Thurs night I'll go back to the place that sells that dress where they said they've give it to me for $875 taxes in off the rack.

Ugh. Why am I doing this to myself?

In great news: I ended up ordering my BM dresses online after all and they'll be receiving them by mid-November with a few weeks to get fitted. PHEW!

I'm soooo happy so far with the service I've gotten from Magic Moments Collections elefant.gif They sold it to me for $116 instead of $190. Mind you, with shipping it came close.

Ohhhhh, Kevsgirl! I TOTALLY know how you're feeling about the dress!! I can sympathize...

While on one hand you know it's just a dress and you've already spent good money on it..on the other, if you took money out of the equation, you'd probably go with the second dress...right? :-)

Like I said in an earlier posting...I too went through this like three weeks ago. And the first dress I ordered hasn't even come in to the store yet!:-)

I struggled with the decision like it was frickin' Sophie's Choice!:-)

But a good friend of mine, who I have known since grade four (!) told me, after I explained my dilemma, that to her it sounded like I preferred the second dress (which, BTW, is an arm and a leg MORE than my original dress) but that since I'm so practical with things like money (and not wasting it!), this was what I was really having difficulty with...the notion of not using something perfectly good and buying something else instead.

I'm sure you're feeling this same way (or maybe not...:-))...

So, she asked me if money wasn't a factor, which dress would I choose?

I said the second one. She said go for it then, you shouldn't consider price when it's your wedding.

So I did...go for the second one that is:-)

To me Kevsgirl, it sounds like you REALLY like the second one...AND, I think it's a great price actually! You can always sell your first dress online...(oncewed.com, ebay, here on BDW, preownedweddingdresses.com...etc)

I think both dresses are beautiful...but the second one does look like it would be very flattering on...but of course, only YOU know which dress will make you feel like a princess on your day...or queen...or whatever:-)

Wow. Sorry for the long post!blah.gif

Good luck...and let us know what you decide!!!!

I knew you'd totally understand. I know that right above this you'd had the same problem and I didn't get it at the time and now I"m right where you were... crybaby2.gif

I'm TOTALLY the same. I'm very practical and not girly-girl and anti-bridezilla craziness, but here I am. Right in the middle of it all. smile105.gif Do I ever feel like a big huge weenie. LOL.

It's weird: in a way, the first dress is totally ME. It's small, cute and kind of quirky. The second dress is not, but I don't want to be cute and quirky on my WD. I want to feel like a princess. And now I feel like I'm having a temper tantrum rant.gif Ha!
I am too scared to call the stupid salon and see if they'll give me a refund (I know they won't). I didn't call Sindesr back where the dress is (I almost said "My dress" Oh god).
BUT my sister said she'd come with me on Thurs night if I needed a second opinion and it's open later that night, so I think I'm going to go then.

DEEP BREATH. Man, this is really cutting things close.

Thanks for your encouraging words!

I haven't told the first salon either! I KNOW they won't give me a refund or anything (I think that's written like ten times in the contract I signed:-))...

So, I figured it's not even worth telling them...plus, I feel kind of bad! I actually bought it in the States (Seattle...about a 2 1/2 hr drive from Vancouver), so I think when I go pick it up when it comes in, I'll just tell them I've decided to get it altered in Canada...which they probably won't like either...but I just feel bad (not sure why!) about saying I won't be wearing

it liar.gif

Definitely go try the other dress on again with back-up...a second opinion always helps! You may want to call the salon with the 2nd dress to let them know you're planning on coming Thursday...that way they know you're really interested in the dress and if anyone else is in looking at it -- and thinking of buying it -- before Thursday, they can call and let you know:-)

Sigh.

It's MUCH more fun talking wedding dresses than watching the federal election results:-)

Amy: thanks!

1 month and 2 weeks!!! OMG!!! You're coming up quickly to your WD!

Why are you worried? The resort? Damn them... S&M.gif

My stress level is so high right now that i went for a massage today and after the therapist worked on my right shoulder, she said the left was like 1.5" higher than the right. wow.gif

Just got back from ballroom dancing class. Man, we suck. friday.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
