Hi everyone!!!smile03.gif

I've been thinking about where all the December brides were and I've finally found you! smile35.gif

I'm getting married December 12, 2008 at Shangri-La Caribe beach village resort in Playa del Carmen.

Our ceremony will be at 3:30pm (I am so relieved after reading the posts about the timing and sunset!) and dinner at 7pm.

I'll post after I get my hair done (going out now downtown) my To Do list. I'm a little stressed about everything that has to be done still. Really worried about numbers too - it's hard to do lots of the fun DIY projects until we have an accurate guest count and people are taking their time booking... frown.gif Oh well! The most important people are definitely reserved and in :)

Talk soon, ladies!

Andrea :)

Hey December Brides!!

We are getting married in Cabo San Lucas December 6th at RIU Santa Fe. There is a bridal extravaganza this weekend so I'm hoping to find a veil and the groomsmen attire there. I've never been to one before, but hopefully it will prove useful.

The big things we need to get done are find his ring and start ordering invitations. If you're not a DIY kinda girl, but still want great invitations at a great price, I recommend .:Hitched Invites-Custom & Pre-Made Wedding Invitations. Invitations. Inspired:. The girl's name is Gwen and she is great! She gets back to you quickly and she'll do exactly what you want. I did my boarding pass STD through her and they were beautiful.

Look forward to chatting with ya'll some more!smile123.gif

I am getting married Dec. 7th, 2008 at Dreams Tulum. I am so thankful you started this thread so that we can all keep eachother on track & share ideas! Our ceremony, as of now, is set for 4pm. I feel like I should be doing alot right now, but then the resort tells me to wait until @ 3months before to start planning the resort details (cake, flowers, etc.). What else should I be doing? I've gotten STD's out...

Have you all already ordered or purchased your dresses? I'm going this weekend, just haven't found one yet that's "woo-ed" me.

Lastly, are any of you feeling the stress of this "airline fuel costs" & companies going under or bankrupt? I have people afraid to book bc they aren't sure what will be when Dec. rolls @.

Thanks, looking forward to chatting with you ladies, LOTS!!!

ha ha ha - our lists look almost identical - only I was in Ottawa last week on vacation and found my bridesmaid shoes at Global (or Globo or something) - they are super cute and were on sale for $19.00 - I couldn't believe it. Unfortunately i don't have photo's as I left them in Canada with my BM's, but check out that store - prices were very reasonable!!!

Oh yeah - and I still have the daunting task of my invitations - YIKES!! I'm in the middle of changing jobs, so I took next week off between jobs to do wedding stuff - hopefully all my invites will be out by this time next week.

Canvas bags are on sale right now at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. They come in bundles of 3, and with the discount are $2.99 for 3. I also bought the iron-on transfer thing there too (although that was more expensive then I thought).

I realized I am focusing a little bit on too many things - invites, OOT stuff, the bags, luggage tags, BM gifts, my jewelery, my shoes, center-pieces, etc - I've decided that I will accomplish more if I only focus on one thing at a time - so today's the day. FOCUS ONLY on invitations!!! Let's hope that strategy works :) :)

Thanks for the intel, Tracy! I know time is running out (well I feel like it is) for good shoes, because summer's almost over... also, my real problem is that my BMs (sisters) are in Australia, so I can't really do anything until I know their dresses and they have to get shoes to match. Arrrg!

Do you have friends in Ottawa/are you from Ottawa? Seems a bit of a distance to come from Texas :) You probably liked our summer weather - I hear although it's boiling for us, it's lots cooler for those coming from the south!

p.s. did your strategy work? are the invites done?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
