? for those who changed their e ring

Recommended Posts

Here is an idea....we didn't go to the same jeweler to get my second e-ring. We went to a new one, all they did was take out my diamond and put it in the new setting....

So, I think you could do the same with your e-ring, just find a setting you like. After you do this return your band to Jared's and exchange it for something that will match your new setting.

The new ring is beautiful, but your current one is goregeous also.

I believe to exchange (or upgrade) the new ring has to be double the cost of the old.

For example if your engagement rings costs $2000 then you could go to Jared, pick a $4000 ring, and Jared would only charge you the additional $2000 (at least that is how Ben Bridge and Americus Diamond work). So, essentially you have to get double the ring you have now - which it sounds like could be a problem.

I think Martha's idea of taking the stone from your current one, and putting it into a new setting is a great idea.

In May we finally decided on matching wedding bands we both loved in St Thomas. Which we got a great deal on also. However they dont go with my e-ring which actually had its own wedding band in it, but we really wanted matching bands. I plan on either taking the diamonds out and getting a band made that will match with my wedding band we have. Or! My other idea was not wear an e-ring at all, just have my wedding band. Or! I'm even tossing around the idea of waiting until our 5 year anniversary for a new e-ring and making the current one into a heart charm with my diamonds in it.

If I was you, I would try and find a non chain jeweler that will take your diamond and create you something that will match your current wedding band you have. Since your band on your e-ring is plat you may possibly be able to work out a deal for a trade the plat, for him to do a new setting for you.

I'm at a loss. I don't know if people sell them on Ebay or Craigslist. I basically need 1000 to not have to shell out more money to change bands.

you are only wanting to sell it for $1000? the band or the ering?

I've just seen several people change rings thinking they could get most of their money back on the original & then learn they could only sell it for about half. So they end up holding on to the ring & spent way more than they want. You can sell it on ebay or craigslist, but you just need to know what to expect before you buy the new ring.

who is the designer & what is the style called? maybe we can find what they are selling for. sometimes having a designer name makes things easier to sale. also, you have the fact that metal prices have risen helping you out.

I just googled selling an engagement ring & found this

How To Sell Your Engagement Ring | eHow.com

List your ring on an online auction site, in your local classifieds (online or print) or place it with a local jewelry consignment shop. Expect to get approximately 50 to 70 percent of the appraisal value of your ring. List a higher price so that you will have room to negotiate.

You are very resourceful!

My wedding band is by Varna Welcome to Varna! then Europa.

My band was just over 2,000 to buy. So, if I sell it I'd want to get at least 1,000 for the band.

I might list it and see what happens.

Also, I found a better picture of the new possibility

How about getting a wedding band custom made to suit your e ring? Do you have your heart set on an eternity band? In my opinion, the simpler the band the better it would look as a set. I agree that the band in the first pic takes away from the e ring.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
