    yay!!!! congrats!!!

     

     

    love the wiki skadow..when I get a chance I will add some things.  I'm a teacher and just started back with inservice today...feeling a little crazy!!!

          Nicole: Did you book Octavio Montes as your photographer? I noticed on another post that you were looking into him?  I am looking at posts for him because I am considering using him.

            Thanks for your help lilbuddha! Its so nice to get inside info from someone who has already been there!

            My fiance and I were both able to get massages (you get to use 300 of the 1500 toward spa) and the rest we used to go to Tulum and swim with dolphins.  we actually had about 600 leftover when we left because wanted to go jet skiing and we needed to use an outside vendor for that (160) for jet ski's and deep sea snorkel.  You can also use some of it for a romantic dinner for two on the beach etc.  We didn't use any to upgrade out room because they upgraded us when we got there free of charge.  Our travel agent called and told them we were on our way and considering using them for our wedding.  They even left chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room...and since i am easily swayed by food....they got my vote  :)

              Question: Did any of the 2010 B2b's use any of the outside vendor's? 

               

              Did you upgrade tables/chairs etc?  or add lighting?  I feel a little overwhelmed by all the options....and while my fiance is handling the DJ situation the woman hasn't gotten back to him in 2 weeks.  He is much more patient then I am though....but still!  Sorry bit frustrated by planning process.

                Outside vendor services (photography, florists, decor companies, audio visual companies, entertainers, etc.) are not permitted on premises. However, with that being said Several Girls on this website have used outside photography vendors. In the past they have bought them day passes, don’t say anything about it. Thus far it hasn’t been a problem

                For my wedding I booked Matt From Del Sol. They have a photo journalism style and are AMAZING! They are a little expensive, but truly world class. Their website is located HERE -> http://delsolphotography.com/blog/
                 

                If you love the Del Sol style, but would prefer a more economical choice. Matt, Owner of Del Sol apparently started another company under the Del Sol umbrella called La Luna. Their website is located HERE -> http://www.lalunaphotographers.com/
                 

                You should take a look; I believe some of the pictures posted on the website are of Best Destination Wedding Brides. I believe La Luna starts around $400/p.h.

                Be sure to ask for the Aventura Price lists. It varies from the regular list. JSAV are the preferred Palace Resorts Vendor for DJing. I do not think you would be able to get away with an outside DJ. My Wedding coordinator, Yazmin said she preferred if I contacted them myself. I booked them for 4 hours at $385. I thought it was going to be cheaper, but I am happy with this.
                 

                I put both of these Vendors on the Aventura Spa & Cove WIKI today.
                 

                Question 2:
                 

                I upgraded tables’ cloths to eggplant purple, with round tables and white wood chairs. I am bring down chair sashes and paper lanterns. You can rent them, but they are very expensive. I will probably rent Tiky Touches when I am down there.

                  I did look into Octavio, and he was very awesome to communicate with, quickly responding to my emails and answering all my questions...but i ended up booking Juan Navarro...I looked into his work and really, really liked it...he is also awesome to communicate with and that makes me feel very comfortable...he was more expensive, but still reasonable...I booked him for 6 hours and another hour for trash the dress the following day...check out his blog, there are update pictures constantly...i should know, i stalk it all the time :)

                    ugh! is your fiance dealing with Michell from J&S services for dj? i have been trying to get a response from him the whole entire month of August...im really frustrated...i told him repeatedly my wedding is in 9 weeks now, and still...nothing! i dont know who else to contact and i emailed Yazmin today to voice my concern and i got an automated response saying she is out of office till September 13th!!! the clock is ticking and i am def starting to feel the stress....massive amounts of chocolate and vodka will hopefully keep me from becoming bridezilla :)

                      Im suprised that he is not responding to you. When I was in communication with him, he would literally email me right away. There were probably 2 occasions where it took him a few days to get back to me, but it was no biggie. Have you tried contacting your wedding coordinator? Dulce was the one who initially got me in contact with Michell.
