What extras did you guys get? How did prices look when you built your own package vs. a predesigned one?

Do either or you have a spread sheet of addons and prices you selected?

For all you brides that got married at Aventura Spa/Cove Palace and did a private dinner, what was your favorite item on you buffet dinner menuhuh.gif

I'm trying to put together my menu and really want to pick yummy/outstanding food. I heard they are pretty flexiable and let you sub different dishes from different menus for your buffet.

Thanks!

I think it was almost $1000 in savings doing the complimentary package then adding on:

$505 - Photos with CD
$377 - DVD
$180 - BMs flower (ordering 1 bouquet and split 3 ways)
$94 - Flower for mom and grandma (corsages)
$300 - Civil ceremony cost
$136 - Carriage ride
$32 - flower for hair

Total: $1624

The package was $1925 plus $300 for ceremony = $2225

Plus I would have still have to pay for a lot of the stuff above (flowers, CD of photos) so with package and all of the above it would be $2689... there is the $1000 savings.

I could still add a little decor at the ceremony and still come under.

I hate to be the downer, but just something to think about if you do a complimentary package and do the add-ons. On all of the prices it says "starting price." Not sure what more they will charge for certain items, but it would be worth a phone call to get more specific prices on everything based on how particular you are in what you want.

I talked to the coordinator in Miami, Melissa Gomez, and she said they go by the room nights vs. just the number of rooms. She told this to me over the phone so I dont have it in writing... It sounds like Dulce is very accommodating so hopefully we will be good to go when we meet up with her in person.

It is harder to just communication via email vs. phone but it should all work out in the end! :-)
So, if our whole group booked through a TA back home, do we still qualify for the free stuffhuh.gif I was really bummed in the beginning because I thought for sure we didn't since we booked through a TA, but now your notes about this have me interested! Please, do tell!!!! =)

Actually I told Dulce my onsite WC on what items I wanted to add on and I was quoted the same price as what was on their site. I printed off the email with the information just in case so they cant change their minds.

The best thing to do is check with your onsite coordinator and check on the add ons and if there is any extra cost. I think that the price for the flowers could vary depending on your bouquet and type of flowers... As if you are requesting something special or out of the ordinary than that might cost you more.

Does your TA have a group contract with Aventura Spa? I would check with the TA back home to see if she can work with them. Today I sent Dulce an email about only having 9 rooms and over 30 room nights to check on the free cocktail reception, she said that I would qualify since I have over 30 room nighs with my contract.

Are you working with someone from the Miami office? You could possible conference the TA and the WC from Miami on the phone to see if they can work something out. It's worth a shot.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
