Hey Aventura Brides!

I was wondering... did anyone make programs for the wedding? If so, did your coordinator provide you with a timeline for the ceremony for you to make them?

Also, how did you keep track of your guests? I'm worried we're going to get down there and just be completely lost.

I'm in panic mode because it's less than 3 months until my wedding and I feel like I have SO much to pull together! Any advice would help. :)

Hey ddiinnyyeell...

I was in panic mode right up until we left...I think that's normal when it gets so close.

My WC sent me an outline of the ceremony...I can send it to you if you still need it. Email me at rachel.andersen@hotmail.com and I'll send it over. She was also able to provide me with the name of our judge performing the ceremony so I put that on my program.

I was able to keep track of the guests pretty easily...but we only had 17 and 4 stayed at another resort. We handed out passport booklets with info and there was page to write each person's room number in it that we used a lot. My two girlfriends were in the same building as us so that helped too. We did have a small issue with where they put everyone but in the end it really didn't matter. How many guests do you have going?

NaM-

Thank you so much! It really was a blast! I really need to get going on my review and my planning thread (wayy late!) but feel free to PM me or Email me in the meantime.

  • 3 weeks later...

your pictures were really cute, Rachel. can't wait to read your review and look at more of your pictures. I'm planning to get married at Aventura Cove next year May and still have virtually all of my planning to get done. sad.gif

did you take any of the tours the resort provided? I thought that would be pretty neat, it'll give my guests something extra to do on their own.

Rach --

We have 26 people coming. How did you get everyone's room numbers? It seems like we don't know our room number til we get down there. I did get the ceremony outline from my wedding coordinator. Did you do a walkthrough the night before to make sure everyone know what they were doing?

From what I understand there are no walk throughs or rehearsals...the guys are supposed to be there 30 min before the start of the ceremony and the WC tells everyone where to stand and what to do, the rest just kinda flows.

Do you have a TA? Ours has been keeping track of room numbers as they book so we know where everyone will be staying. There are about 50 of us and we are very spread out!

No, we didn't do a travel agent. I'm regretting it now. When we booked we weren't given a room number so we probably won't know til we get there. I'll probably just ask the front desk when I get there for everyone's room number. Ho hum... i can't wait for this to be done and I can look back and realize how I stressed over nothing :)

Haha I hear ya! I haven't heard anything bad about ASP yet so I'm trying to stay sane and just let it come. Can't wait to here how yours goes :)

Have you picked decorations yet?

None of our guests were given room numbers when they booked...I'm surprised you got them already!

In terms of figuring out room numbers, we got ours when we arrived and left messages for people who hadn't left home yet (free calls!) telling them the room we were in and to give us a call with their room number when they arrived.

of our guests

We also called the front desk when we knew people would be arriving (we had everyones flight info) and they connected us to their room, but wouldn't give out the number. We only had 13 guests staying at the resort so it really wasn't that bad. Getting ahold of our guests that stayed at the Catalonia was much more difficult since they didn't have a voicemail system!

HI Everyone!

Has anyone had an issue with the red aisle runner? I am only asking because my colors are pink and orange and I just think the red may clash. Do you know if we are allowed to have it removed?

Dinyell--I am freaking out too..so much last minute stuff that I feel clueless on;-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
