Is anyone (or did anyone) bringing there own music for the ceremony? I know a lot of people talked about the harpist and I was thinking of doing that too but then I decided to do an outside photographer so now I'm on a limited budget. But I'm kind of scared that it will sound cheap or cheesy to have music played from a CD and I dont know what kind of songs to use.

FYI girls -- Vanessa (the spa/salon appt. woman) emailed me back today and told me that if I book my spa/salon appointments now that I can still get the 2010 prices because the 2011 prices are technically not "published" yet.  So for anyone who hasn't booked yet, I would!  I am!

Does anyone have a play list for the harpist?

 

Past brides - If you had the harpist, were you able to hear it okay?  I have heard rumors that the harpist can be overtaken by the sound of the waves and the wind.

I had the harpist and I heard her playing perfectly as I walked down the aisle. All of my guests said they could hear the sound, but were disappointed because she did not play any of the traditional wedding songs. I asked for a traditional playlist, but Im not sure what she was playing. If you decided to go with any of the soloists, verify the songs that they are going to play if you dont plan on picking your own songs.

Hi Alisa!  I had a male harpist player and he was awesome...the ceremony was at 3:00 and even though it was windy, everyone was able to hear him and everyone commented how much they loved it....I gave him the list I wanted and he played everything I asked for.  I found the songs i wanted by listening to them on youtube videos and deciding what i liked...good luck!

They have lots of "filler" music. I used my own music and Wilma supplemented it for me. I also  prepared an entire playlist to be played while my guests were waiting and brought my ipod dock to play the "waiting" music. But it wasn't used.  I chose the song for my entrance, our sand ceremony and our exit. Wilma used some classical music for the bridal party entrance. I think its about personal preference. I wanted the CD music. I hope this helps a little...

Ladies, ladies!!

 

I have some good news!!!   Apparently, the resort is offering special rates right now if you book on-line.  So, my travel agent contacted me and she is going to try and  get our rates adjusted.  So, I would go on-line and see if your TA's rates are the same and if not get them adjusted!!  They are also advertising that kids stay free during the summer of 2011, so if you have any guests bringing kids, you should have them adjust that too.

 

Also, they have another promotion specific to our resort stating that all of the vacation dollars we receive can be used at the spa.  I just emailed Vanessa to ask her if that is the case and what limitations there are to it.  I will let you all know what she says.  It would be great if we had more than $300 to use there,

 

On a final note.... I am doing a 6pm ceremony and I just found out that there are 3 other weddings booked before mine (3pm, 4pm and 5pm).  Not to sure how I feel about this.
