The pictures on the beach were a little difficult with the veil blowing all the time too, & I almost took it off. But from the pictures I've seen so far, I'm glad I kept it on.
Ok thats good to know. I so badly want to have my hair down, but Im so worried about the wind. I figure half up, half down wouldnt be so bad, but you never know until you talk to someone whos actually experienced it. Thanks!

On picture 14, that is showing the lounge beach chairs, correct? That area is restricted to concierge level or higher. The good thing is that with the vacation dollars you can upgrade your room. I kinda wish we didnt book the conceirge room since they look them same as the regular rooms (plus no one ever stays in their rooms)! Also we could have saved some money by booking the regular room had we knew about the promotion then upgraded when we got there. Oh well...

As for picture 18, I think you can have your reception there but not 100%. Also we were going to just use a reservation at Mundaca on the Terrace but it wasnt private enough (you can see it on pic 15). Now the top of Mundaca restaurant has an awesome view which is used for private functions and when we met up with Dulca we asked if we could have our private event up there but it was booked. I guess in the end it didnt really matter since we had our reception inside due to weather.

Also another great place to have your reception is the Cove Terrace which is VERY beautiful and has an awesome view. You can see the pics from Jackie's wedding pictures.

Also wanted to add that the gift shop at the resort has wonderful last minute favor items. We picked up 30 maracas for $40 at the gift shop. You can go into Playa Del Carmen but it will cost you $25 or so dollars round trip for cab fare... just a thought.

Another thing... I wasnt a big fan of the El Greco restaurant but the Mundaca Steakhouse was GREAT! There filet mignon is WONDERFUL! Everyone was very surprised that the steak was so good and it wasnt uncommon for people to order a second serving of steak!

Thanks for the tip! I was already planning on going to Playa and to the local Walmart for the maracas so this is great. Now I can save a trip!!

Past Brides...

So I have been in contact with ASP and I finialy recieved a quote for the laterns I want.

They want to charge me about $485 for my white chinese paper laterns.

I can buy them (50 Laterns with Electrical cords and bulbs) for $120

In the big picture of things it normally wouldnt be that much of a savings ,but I need them for my AHR so I will be purchasing the $120 in laterns anyways.

Now What I am wondering. If I bring them down with me. Do you think they will hang them up? I am reclucant to ask the hotel, because I believe they will stir me toward using their inhouse decor company.

However I am hoping that if i just bring them down and give them to our WC, they will just do it.

Thoughts? We have the Pandero Terrance and Mundaca Inlet reserved for our Cocktail/Reception Partys. They Terrance should be easy to hang, I am not sure about the Inlet, If they can do anything with that.

Also, I know once you arrive the WC goes over all the decor with you. Is there an option for ticki torches or should I contact them before hand?

I just wasnt sure if they would hang them and such when you give them to the WC .. I guess if they want to charge me for labor its still cheaper.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
