Yes, there are alternative paths but they are longer. I believe you can get a gold cart too if you need it. I know there is one that goes from side to side which was nice. But everywhere along the beach/pool area there aren't long stairs...just lots of stairs all over the place if that makes sense. Like one step here on step there....
Wasn't too much of an issue but something to think about.

[Dulce Oliva Pazos Hernandez] the carriage is waiting for you in the room , so, when I will pick you up there, the carriage take you around the resort and finally get to the wedding gazebo.

NAM: I'm getting married in the same gazebo as you, do you think the guest could see me arrive in the carriage from where the gazebo is and where the stairs are and the carriage would have to drop me off? I don't want to get the carriage and no one sees me in it. Thanks!

Cristi: hahah, don't feel bad I email Dulce weekly too, I was just telling my fiance...this lady is going to hate me by the time I get down there. :)
The carriage will not pull straight up to the gazebo...so it won't be that moment where you step off of it and start walking down the aisle. I think your guests might be able to see you at some point but it wouldn't be for an extended period of time and then you'd still have to walk down. I think the walk from the stairs will still have to be your enterance. BUT like I said, I didn't even look into this as an option so it's only my assumption. I think you should get there and get a feel for it and then decide!!

NaM or any other past brides... I have a question for you. I have 9 rooms booked through my contract so far with 42 room nights and we have two others that are booking another method totaling another 12 nights = total 54 nights... We will have more than 10 rooms booked but not through our contract. Since I dont have 10 rooms through my agreement but have well over the amount of room nights... shouldn't I be qualified for the free cocktail reception? I've asked Dulce she just mentioned the number of rooms and not the nights (wasnt very clear)... dont you think I should be able to negotiate that when I get therehuh.gif $600 isnt too bad but think I should qualify since our group is bringing in more money just with the room nights than if folks did the minimum of three nights and only having 10 rooms.... (10 rooms; 3 nights = $11k in profit for them with 2 people where as we are bring in $5k alone with just me and my FI not including anyone else.. we are staying 10 nights in concierge level room).

Just my thought...

Definitely fight for it! If you have a TA ask them to move the extra rooms to your group booking too, we did this and while it was a process it paid off. We even had 2 people cancel after we were already there which lost us 6 nights and ASP gave us our unlimited events even though we didn't qualify for it.
When you're in your meeting with Dulce, an accounts lady can come in and talk to you about the booking to get it all sorted. It'll be easier to deal with when you get there because then you will know definite numbers and what you would like and also there will be less of a communication problem.

NaM - that is good to know and I will definitely fight for it. Now we have until mid April until the deadline to book through our TA so we might end up having 10 rooms but I always like to be prepared just in case we don't hit the 10 room minimum. I talked to the coordinator in Miami, Melissa Gomez, and she said they go by the room nights vs. just the number of rooms. She told this to me over the phone so I dont have it in writing... It sounds like Dulce is very accommodating so hopefully we will be good to go when we meet up with her in person.

It is harder to just communication via email vs. phone but it should all work out in the end! :-)

For those that had used the dinner reservations for after the wedding... did they put you off to the side in a semi private area? We only have 20 to 25 people attending and not sure if I want to go all out on a private event with dancing, etc... but I do want to have our dinner to be somewhat private.

Also did you any of you play music during the dinner reservation or is there back ground music that the restaurant plays?

We are going to have a cocktail reception in which we will bring our Ipod but not sure what to do about dinner... also for those brides that havent gotten married yet what do you plan to do?

Thank you!

Hi girls

So this unlimited events thing is completely new to me. I haven't heard a word about it till now. What is the deal with this? Based on how many nights/rooms you and your guests book, we may be eligible for a non-fee based reception or something? Please fill me in!

I originally figured I would get married in the North gazebo b/c i dont want children there but Im not sure if that will be too far if I have the cocktail hour and reception over on the south side? any suggestions on that..also we're planning on there being around 50 guests and we all like to have a good time :) I read good things about having the cocktail hour at Pandero Terrace and the reception on the roof of Mundaco...does anyone have any thoughts on these places? thank you so much for any help and as time goes by, any information i collect I will definitely share with you guys :) so excited! Nicole
Hi we booked the cove gazebo for 3pm on Nov 11. Are you going with one of the packages we are looking at about 50 pp as well. We thinking of of using the mundaca terrace but Dulce said there is a $12 per person set up fee do you have any other suggestions for 50 pp with no set up fee. We are trying to decide if we are going with a package because we wanted to hire a proffesional photograper and we don't need the horse and carrige since our guests can't see it. But we like the decor options so we are trying to figure out if it cheaper to take the free package and add on the extras flowers soloist larger cake etc any ideas from future and past brides are greatly appriciated

If your guests book a minimum of 75 room nights, you get unlimited private functions. This means that you can have a dinner rehearsal, reception, cocktail hour etc for free. The catch is: your guests have to book through your contract. So if yo have a TA, then direct all booking inquiries to them or you can also have the ladies in Miami book it also. Ive been dealing with Yesenia and shes been good with helping me out.

If you have 50ppl coming im sure you qualify for atleast one private function. You should check that out because if you do qualify you can definitely book Mundaca. Who are you considering for a photographer? Im getting married the day after you at 4:00 :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
