Thanks so much for sharing your experience! DJ Doremixx was my top pick, but they are unavailable for my date so it's either J&S AV or DJ Mannia...glad to hear you had a great experience though! ALSO happy to hear they only charged you the guest passes and no vendor/insurance fee. I will call Yesenia tomorrow to see what she says!

The same thing happened to me, I will suggest you to call the office in Miami.

A month  before my wedding i decided to hire a DJ. I had a quote from DJ Doremixx for  $800 . When i asked my WC, she said no outside vendors and sent me their approved DJ which was 4 hours for $ 1500, No way i would pay that money!!. So, I emailed Yesenia from Miami 1 week  before the wedding and asked her if it was okay to use DJ Doremixx, she said yes. Ivan was so great to work with!! My wedding was their first time at Aventura Palace but he worked at other Palace Resorts. My wedding was on Saturday November 5th, Ivan and Omar ( his assistant)  came on Friday to view the reception location and went thru every songs and  all the bridal party's name with us. He made sure everything was right! Husband and I made a lot of changes and he was very patient . Also, i left the song for my wedding video , i told Ivan about it and he sent me a CD with the english and spanish versions of the song.During our meeting, I told him that some of my family are coming  from my country and didn't speak english,  He played French/haitian music which was wonderful!!

There was no fee, i only purchased 2 guests pass.

Hi Ladies!

I just arrived home. I do not have pictures yet... I hired Claudia Rodriguez Photography and will get a link maybe in about 2 weeks. I will see through pictures we took if there are any from welcome party or the dinner so that you can check out the spots I picked. ( although we took pictures of people not the place really...)

Here's the scoop...we had 30 people plus 2 photographers.

Welcome Coctail Party- location : Cove Terrace: was absolutely beautiful! She set up lights for us and a mixture of high and low tables, they also decorated the tables although we never asked for that... we chose the cold hors d'ouvres and they were delicious. We started at 5pm and finished at 615pm then proceeded to the dinner area which was set up outside in the Ventanas' restaurant. Manuel set up beautiful fresh flowers arrangments for us... just because...again we never asked for any special treatment... These people just do it out of kindness. The people who set up both the welcome party and the dinner on Friday were the same ones to do our Ceremony and Reception. So, please guys : tip them. They make $5 a day and appreciate every little bit. We tipped separately for Friday's functions and for Saturday"s functions. The ceremony was at 3pm at the Coba Gazebo- the carriage stops by the stairs so it's easy to fall especially if you are wearing 5+ inch heels- so be careful! As far as who goes in fron of whom and the whole order of the wedding- I didn't need to worry about anything- Cristina and Karimi- told me what to do and directed the whole wedding party through the whole ceremony and after. Honestly, it was really well put together. I had the sapphire collection, added a violinist and extra video to capture everything I wanted... Our friend is an opera singer so she sang Ave Marie while I was walking down the isle... which was kind of funny because I was really rushing and for the life of me did not want to slow down:)

Anyway... it was beautiful... People were crying.. the carriage was a great addition! I cried, too. After the ceremony, the wedding party and the 3 photographers went to take pictures... then hubby and I took pictures solo. Then I went to change to my short reception dress and salsa shoes so that I can dance... Reception was at the Spa Terrace and the ladies did again great jon of setting it up... Reception started at 5pm but I arrived at 530pm because of the pics and the dress changing... So we had our first dance and it was a hit!!! We cut the cake pretty early: again delicious- bottom layer: cheesecake, middle- carrot cake - the top- chocolate. After MOH and BM had their speaches toasts I started to dance... and I did not stop till 930pm... Did not even have the time to go to the bathroom because did not want to miss any single song! Also because of the dancing , I completely forgot to EAT! So I was starving after we were done and completely wet.. soaked! But I achieved my objective which was to have everybody dancing at all times... We chose the Italian buffet and I heard it was awesome! lol

I had DJ SAV that Aventura recommended for 4hr and he stayed later and never complained or pushed us. He was great! Bartenders were great... I made sure we tipped them equally so nobody would be forgotten. When we got to our room a hot bath in the jacuzzi was awaiting us along with the swan towels, champagne and cake- which I gobbled down in 1 minutes since I was starving by then... The bath felt so good and relaxing!!!

I have other comments about the resort but will write a different review for that... Whoever is getting married this weekend... just remember, they will be busier..because it's /11/11/11- for some rason everybody wants to be married on that date...lol Do not worry about anything... You are in good hands... Good Luck!!!

Oh, if you get a chance go on a tour with Captain Quickie... www.captainquickie.com   lasted 10 hrs and was the best experience I have ever had.. also go to Cozumel and instead of going shopping ... have one of the dive shops take you to do a snorkeling or diving tour- we went diving for 3 hr and the reef was amazing, colorful and just breathtaking...

Happy Married Life to Everyone!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
