Wow interesting...

I hope nothing changes for your wedding.  I would think if they plan to physically change the look of the resort it would take quite some time so hopefully you are safe.  Hopefully we are all safe!!  :)

Should I be a little concerned about this since we are getting married in December? I hope too much doesn't change, because I don't like the decorating at Hard Rock Cafe, especially for my wedding! I just don't like the unknown...

That is great you qualified for the free cocktail hour.  We are getting a free private function so we decided to add in a welcome dinner that will be a private event instead of at a restaurant which was my original plan.  We are going to send our guests to the main lobby to kill time while we are taking pictures so no need for a cocktail hour for us.

I think our OOT bags are a pretty good gift/favor in itself.  We are also sending out luggage tags with the pre-travel brochures, will have silk fans on the chairs during the ceremony and I think I might get pashminas for all the ladies.  I just read on here that someone had them embroidered with their names and they had them hanging on the chair so people knew where they were sitting at the reception.  Such a cute idea so I might have to steal it.

My To Do List...

- still have to work on our music playlists for the welcome dinner, ceremony and reception

- finish buying a few little things for the OOT bags and put them all together to see how they look

- waiting for my dress and BM dresses to come in

- figure out what I am wearing under the dress

- figure out what I am wearing in my hair (pin, clip, barrette, flower)

- finalize the centerpieces (changed my mind so many times)

- take BD photos and prepare the album to give to FI

- move to new apt

- get legally married

- attend bridal shower

- get hair done (colored, highlighted)

- buy stuff for vacation (bikini, dresses, etc.)

- and do lots of stuff for AHR - especially narrow down the guest list and order invites

That is all the main stuff I can think of at the moment.

I was told that my coordinator is Edith. I have yet to be contacted by her, but I've been working with Iliana over the past month or so making my selections and approving the purchase order. I'm truly excited because I qualified for the cocktail hour. I know you have mentioned in the past you have yet to get people to officially confirm they are going to your wedding. Well its 3 weeks away and I'm now starting to see people make their arrangements.  So take it from me you will have your stragglers.

I'm still not sure what to do about favors. I'm doing the maracas which I'll buy in Playa del Carmen, but I wanted to give my guests a little something else. Any ideas? Also I have to make my arrangements for my transportation fom my home to airport and airport to my home. I'm actually flying out with some family members and we live very close to each other so I'm thinking shuttle van. I have to create my music playlist. I'm using my iPod for music. I have other details here and there, but its a matter of getting them done. I also go for my last fitting on Monday. I leave Sunday the 23rd.

What else do you have left?

Eeek! I just looked into it after reading this and saw the same buzz on TripAdvisor and on Palace's Facebook page - although no one from Palace definitively confirmed or denied it. It makes me nervous as well bc they were also in talks of changing it back to Adults only - and since I have a few kiddos attending, I'll be upset if I have to switch up my resort, ESP. since I just finished my invites :( I don't mind Hard Rock, but I think it would take away from the charm/tranquility of ASP and on principle, they should be notifying ALL of their booked brides if this is really true...I emailed my TA, so stay tuned!

Thanks for checking J-me!!! I didn't actually call, but I did email Yesenia in the Miami wedding office and she said she knew nothing of this change. I wasn't sure if she was just telling me that or not. Maybe it just hasn't gone 'public' yet...it still makes me nervous because I don't really know who to believe! I did email my TA also, but haven't heard back yet...I'll keep you posted:)

So I contacted my TA regarding the Hard Rock 'rumor' and she contacted her Palace rep and this is what he said:

If the wedding is this December, then no worries as the resort will be unchanged.  We will likely be signing on to finalize plans later this month, but as of right now, nothing is official.  If we do move forward, the changes will likely be dramatic, but definitely not in the next few months.

...So some people at Palace seem to know about it and some don't!

*sigh* so frustrating! Great news for you though! Hopefully, when he says the 'next few months' he means AFTER April :) I guess we'll just wait & see what happens....thanks for sharing this!

Wow.  Aventura is so gorgeous.  I can't believe they would want to change anything about it.  I'm so glad I have nothing to worry about.  I definitely think they need to start contacting the future brides and let them know and give them a choice.

BTW....I leave in just 5 short weeks.  Still have quite a bit to do but I want the time to fly by!!

Aventura IS so beautiful, so I really CAN'T imagine them wanting to change it! But we shall see....honestly, I think I'll be more mad that they haven't reached out to brides more so even than the changes themself. Hopefully, it's one big fat rumor :)

Either way, happy this doesn't affect you fall brides - so great you only have 5 weeks!! Try to enjoy every last bit of it - everything you've planned will come together and you'll be in paradise soon with your new hubby!

Yea I think it has to do with one resort buying the other out or something like that...it's all politics I'm sure! I don't think they are contacting brides yet because its technicially not 'official' yet. Maybe once they sign papers and stuff they will tell people?? Although, I do feel like they would just change things without notice too! Oh well, we will make the best of it no matter what happens:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
