Travis, that is awesome! I saw there was another person getting married on the same day as both you and I but they never responded back to me.

We are getting married an hour after you guys, at 3pm on the Cove side (Coba Gazebo). Are you getting married on the Cove side or Spa side?

As for you being the only guy on here, I'm sure they are others and I bet your fiancee is loving that you are involved (you get kudos on this end!). My man is involved but to a certain extent (which I'm fine with and understand).

Have you been in contact with your on-site coordinator? I just started to talk with mine so if you have any questions let me know.

Cristi,

Ummm, right now we don't have any details down beyond ASP at 2:00 on 6/26. We got the big reservation done at the end of Nov. and then we've both been on the road for work this entire month. We need to start gettin things like specific ceremony location (and say invitations) taken care of once the holidays are over.

No, we haven't been in contact with the on-site coordinator yet. That will probably be step #1. Did you get in touch with them through the initial contact in Miami?

Travis, I know what you mean... things have been pretty busy so I need to start taking care of the little things (invitations, etc) as well. I'm like you and waiting until the holidays are over.

When booking, I went through Destination Weddings.com and once I signed a contract they got me in touch with someone in Miami (been working with Melissa Gomez out of the Miami office). Just recently Melissa gave me a name of one of the on site coordinators, Dulce, and just started to work with her within the past week. I know they usually state the onsite coordinator contacts you 60 days prior but sometimes it's earlier.

Are you doing one of the packages? We went with the Sapphire package but might change to the free and add on...

I worked with Dulce and she is fantastic!!! So nice and really accommodating and easy to work with. She's good about responding to emails and requests.
We went with the free package and did add ons, I really liked it this way BUT having seen Raluca's decor...the packages are spectacular. It would've been nice not to have to worry about the "details" and have it limmited already.
Let me know if you have any questions...I know the WC tend to wait to give you a lot of the info and I kept most of it.
You guys will not be disappointed! ASP/ACP is awesome and they do a great job with weddings!!
BTW-there were 2 other weddings the same day as mine and I don't think we ever ran into eachother. I was at 4 and the other two were at 2 and 3...i never once saw the 2 o'clock bride and the 3 o'clock was Rbazu and we saw eachothers set up but that was about it. I don't know if that was a concern of yours but thought I would address it!!

NaM - Thank you and I was at first concerned since we have 4 or 5 people getting married the same day (anywhere from 2 to 6pm). I tried to reserve the Pandera Terrace for the cocktail reception after the ceremony but it was booked so Dulce booked another terrace which looks nice.

I need to figure out how to add pictures/ attachments on here!

I used Del Sol for my wedding at ASP last month. I don't have my pictures back yet but will post them when I do. Here are some I found archived from Elizabeth Medina's blog site if you're interested in seeing pro pics taken at ASP:

Thanks Nam!

Did you like working with Del Sol? Who was your photographer? I'm going to book them for my May wedding :) Just trying to figure out the whole no outside vendor thing.

Did you find there was tons of wonderful spots to take pictures even though there is no beach?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
