Danielle,
Please do post them! You make me feel so much better when you say you had no problem with bringing an outside photog. As you can tell, I have been PARANOID. Yazmin has reminded me quite a few times of their outside vendor rules, so I was feeling apprehensive. And really, 15-20 photos of quality is quite a good number! Thank you for your post! I am so excited to see your review and all the photos when you get back (lol, no pressure at all!:))
take care

Hi Ladies

I was married on Oct 23rd at ASP and I promise to get my review up soon. I am having my AHR next weekend so I've been busy with that from the moment we came home! ASP was great..they did a fantastic job with everything and they were very accomodating! The service is AMAZING...I made a comment to my WC the day before my wedding about a small mud patch and the next day the mud patch became this beautiful flower garden--all just to make the ground look prettier! I had a party of 25 and we ate together most nights and space was never an issue. They would have 5-8 waiters on our table and a glass was never left unfilled. They go out of their way to make sure that your experience is perfect.

We choose the north end to be married because we liked the privacy and the horse and carriage can come directly up to the gazebo--which I loved! I added some stuff to the ceremony script because otherwise it is very generic and short--beware those of you that are doing the legal ceremony! I added the hand ceremony and a sand ceremony and we did our own vows. We had our reception at the piano terrace which was beautiful--I wasn't sure if I liked the piano or the pandero terrance better but went with the piano because it was closer to my gazebo. Plus, we had a few rain showers the day before and I was nervous the same thing would happen on my day (piano is covered, pandero is not). Our food was fantastic at the wedding and their was plenty! We had the mexican trio play for the ceremony and that was great--gave a nice authentic feel to the ceremony. We made a playlist for the reception and that worked out great. We added tiki torches around the terrance--which I think is a great touch for any reception! The day after my wedding there was another event at one of the "reception huts" that I saw and they had these beautiful chiffon looking sheets put up around the outside--not enough that it blocked your view, but just large enough to have them blowing in the wind and they were white--so it really added to the romantic look. I wish I would have seen them before my wedding because I would have definitely added them. I'm not sure if they resort provided them or what, but I just thought I'd let you all know that it really made it even more beautiful. Please feel free to PM me if you have any other questions!!

Promises to add more after the 14th!

Okay, I just went back through the recent messages and saw some of the questions so I will try and address.

ASP is attempting to get harder rules on the outside photographer thing but it doesn't seem like the WC's make you stick to it. Dulce kind of grimaced when I told her I needed guest passes for my photographers, but she did it. She just said don't mention it to anyone. So..I suggest, that you just have your photographers check in for the day like normal guests--you don't have to tell anyone who they are or what they do--your WC will just ask you the names that you need on the passes and that is all you need to say. That is my suggestion;-)

I had my rehearsal dinner at Mundaca and we weren't on the small patio that Rach220 was describing but just one level up --we actually asked for that because it was just sprinkling as we walked over--the view from this area (which is much bigger) is absolutely the same and its nice because it is covered. Also, we had the whole side of this area so they really did a nice job of making it feel private even for just our rehearsal dinner.

I used the videographer from the resort and he was fantastic. We weren't sure what to expect but he does a great job! We had made a CD of the music that we wanted on it (suggestion from a previous bride on here;-) and it worked out perfectly. the really cool thing is that you usually get it before you leave because it only takes a few days. It was nice to come home with that because people are asking for pictures right away--usually your formal pics take a while so it was nice to have the video. We used Moments that Matter photography for our pictures and they were fantastic--I posted a quick review on them under their thread if you would like to read it. I never thought about uploading our video to utube..I will look into that and let you know. The only other pictures I have at this point are from guests..but as soon as I have anything official I will let you know.

Hope this helps!

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the site and just planned my wedding at the Aventura Spa Palace for May. Were are having a small wedding aprox 12 people. We chose a 5pm ceremony.

Can anyone tel lme about the bloodwork that is required, do they come to the hotel to draw it, how was the process?

Did anyone have the fireworks? How were they?

I chose the Diamond Package, did anyone choose this package?

I'm trying to find a photographer, I'm thinking of using Del Sol but the want me to puirchase them a room for the night. Since our wedding is so small I'm looking for like a 3 hr photographer package. Does anyone know a photographer who will come just using the day pass?

Thanks!!!! Look forward to hearing from you :)

Hi Jackie-

Congrats on your upcomin wedding...ASP was a fabulous choice! I can't answer most of your questions since we did the free package with very few add-ons, but we also had a small guestlist (17 guests) and had a 5pm ceremony...if you look through the previous threads, our pictures are online at shutterfly.com. I'm hoping to get our video online soon too.

The blood work was very quick and painless. They come right to the resort and did it in the conference room in the wedding office right after our meeting with Yazmin (our WC). I always bruise when I have blood drawn since I have small veins or something like that and was really nervous about having a black a blue mark on my arm that might not go away before the wedding...BUT I had no marks at all!

That's all I can answer for you...we didn't do fireworks and the packages weren't even around when we booked our date...I recommend getting the video though-it was totally worth it!

Good luck with your planning! You've come to the right place :)

This is quite standard. We always ask for at least 1 night and often 2 nights depending on if we are doing a bridal session the next day.
cheers,

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
