I'm thinking of getting married at the avetntura spa palace. So far it seems like there are no complaints. Is anyone getting married there getting the free private receptions. We should have about 60 people with us. Any suggestions, comments from anyone. If you any old paperwork with menus and pictures that you wouldn't mind sending my way that would be so helpful!

Thanks,

kristy

Hi Kristy,

We have 50 people and reached the minimum so we are getting the free private reception. I have a ton of info you want to PM me your email address and I will forward you some stuff to look at.
Where else are you considering? and Congratulations.

So I leave in exactly one week!!

I finished my bridesmaid's bouquets, bought parasols, pick up my dress today, made program fans, got hand painted maracas from mishka designs, and got my wedding hair trial today! I think I'm ready! Now I just have to pack and go!!

I haven't figured out a restaurant yet and I'm super nervous about the salon. I did a hair trial here and I love what she did for me. I'm hoping that they can replicate it in Mexico!

I know Mundaca has a rooftop. That is where we are having our private reception. But it is huge!! Not sure if the have another patio but that would be awesome. I wonder if there are any pics on Trip Advisor of it??

Ok ladies...I got the patio info you are looking for I think. BUT, it will only work for a small party. We had 20 people total seated for dinner and it was a struggle to be seated on the patio. The entire restaurant is open air, but they have this area, that is NOT covered. The problem is it's only for concierge level guests...at least that's what they told us. We went to Mundaca for dinner a few nights before the wedding to scope it out and asked our waiter if the patio area was where they seated weddings. This is when he explained to us the concierge thing and I became really upset that my dinner wouldn't be private enough. There really wasn't another space that was private. So of course one of my girlfriends spoke to the manager and set up some sort of deal. I'm a complete pushover so if it weren't for her I would have had my wedding dinner in the center of the restaurant. I LOVE HER! Apparently she begged and he finally said we could have 1/2 of the patio, but only if she came an hour before to confirm directly with him. Of course she did and we were all set. I was psyched. In retrospect, it probably wasn't the most ideal situation, although I wouldn't have changed it. We scheduled our dinner for 6 PM and the sun was right above the patio...and blinding! DH and I had gone to do pictures while people were being seated and they said they couldn't even sit down because of the sun...they went to the bar instead and waited for us. I was mad at the time because it backed up our dinner, but I don't blame them. We sat around 6:30 and even though the sun was still there it was bearable...

Now for the pics! The big long table we had literally took up half the patio, so it's not large (sorry I don't have any pictures of the whole thing). It would ONLY work for a group our size, unless you did separate tables and used both sides. You can see how it is lower than the rest of the restaurant. I used the ledge that is just behind us to put our stereo on so we had music during dinner. It was perfect!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
