How did you pack all of the OOT bag items?

We can bring our own decor and wedding favors?

What was in your welcome book?

How long did the meeting take with Yazmin? My FI is worried that we will be there all day trying to get everything squared away.

Did you go on any of the "free" tours? If so how were they? I didn't see anything on your review in reference to that. Sorry for all of the questions, but it's getting very close to our wedding. Yikes!

One more question. Was there anything that you had to pay extra for...and if so what was it and how much?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

This can all be so confusing..;-)

FLOWERS AND CAKE

Jena, Rach220--My WC also emailed me the flower selection and I just figured those were the ones that were included in our package. She also sent me the cakes via email and some were small and some were large (or at least two tiered).

From what I understand OhioBride wanted a specific cake so she sent the picture and description and she did have to pay extra for that. However, I think that the ones pictured are included. I'm not sure about the free package, but I know the superior and deluxe package include the large cake.

OhioBride--did you find that not everything that was emailed to you for choices was included?

RECEPTION--

Yes, any private event has an additional charge to it--the cocktail reception (which includes appetizers) is $400 for up to 20 people for one hour..but I think an entire private reception (dinner included) is $40/pp --so its definitely more expensive for the whole reception.

OhioBride--can you clarify how they charge you for the reception?

thanks everyone!

Our bags are getting expensive but we only have about 20 guests, and these are in place of favors. The bags were 2.50 at Target, the mugs we bought from someone on here so they weren't as expensive as full personalization (they say riviera maya). The Spanish books and crosswords were under $1, and we're hoping everything else will be as we get other items...we budgeted $500 for these, and I think we will come in under budget, but yes, it is expensive...

jenna0609:

We packed our OOT items in with our lugauge. We had a ton of luguage.

You can bring anything you want with you. They will set it up for you.

Our welcome book:

Welcome letter

Map of the grounds

A english to spanish trasnlator

A money conversion chart

a breakdown of the restuarants

a itinerary

and a list of the guests with thier room number and thier length of stay

I will try and take pictures of the inside pages of the welcome book.

our meeting took about 2-3 hours but really all the time was worth it. we also brought almost everything with us and I had drawings and stuff of what I wanted. So most of the time was spent making sure she knew how I wanted everything.

We did the paradise snorkeling tour. It was a lot of fun. We didnt participate in any of the optional activities after the snorkeling though. The people in our group that did loved them. Some people got massages, went horseback riding, and went jet skiing. Some of our guests went to the myan ruins. They really enjoyed that.

ddinnyyeel:

Our cake cost $210

We had pictures of everything we wanted so I didnt really look at any of the things she sent me. So I cant really tell you if they were all included. Im sorry.

Ladies,

We want to book an outside photographer...but I am a little nervous. I believe Erin rented a room for her, but has anyone just paid a day pass? One photographer told me to get him the day pass but to talk to my WC first. But I am afraid to mention it to her because I don't want her to tell me no. I remember another bride saying (I believe it was Erin), that she didn't ask because it is better to ask for forgiveness then permission..by the way I like that! msnwink.gif

I emailed you Erin with some questions about that. Ohiobride, what did you do? If you snuck them in, did they say anything when some other guy was there taking pictures? I just don't want to pay and then for some reason they kick him out!!!! Rach, did you ask your WC? Thanks for the help ladies.

Hey Jena-

We told our WC we were planning to hire an outside photographer and she said it was fine as long as we got the daypass...but we ended up getting a room for her in the end so I guess it didn't matter...I will look and see if I have the Email from Yazmin saying it's ok....

OK I lied...this is the answer I got originally from the WC out of the Miami office, Claudia Martinez (I guess I asked this question early on in our planning)...

A: You are definitely able to bring your own photographer, just as long as he stays at the resort as one of your guest. If you would like to see some sample pictures of what our photographers have to offer please click the link that follows: Palace Weedings Photography

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
