SO...we gave our guest list to the wedding planner (we included del sol) and she just emailed me back saying that outside photographers must stay minimum of two nights. OMG WTF is wrong with them? We have confirmation emails from Yesenia regarding then being allowed back in September and then again in November when we payed our first installment. I may flip out real bad if they say no, which I can't imagine they would since soapy people here have used and are using del sol. Sorry had to vent! But on the plus side I got my e-ring back from being buffed today (been gone for three weeks) and my wedding shoes came in (both my heels and high wedge flip flops for later) and my swim suits I ordered from VS. oh and my bridal hanger with it reading mrs. X in aqua wire - so cute! I will post all my goodies when I make a planning thread - my goal is next week!

I would just forward the on-site planner the e-mail from Yesenia that says you only need the one day pass.  I would also cc Yesenia on the e-mail that you're forwarding to the on-site planner.

I'm going to print out all of my e-mails from the beginning of planning to bring with me, so we don't run into any problems.

Has anyone else encountered this sort of crazy yet?

What are you ladies doing in regards to your wedding dress on the plane? I was planning on carrying mine on in the plastic dress bag inside the fabric garment bag given to me by the salon. I have heard of girls using the space bag and vaccuuming their dress - not an option for me as I have lots of details on my dress I'd think it would ruin it. I have also come across boxed to put the dresses in as well as heavy duty garment bags (like vinyl or something) Any thoughts?

Before I booked my flight, I did some research on which airlines are more 'bride-friendly' than other in terms of handling your dress. From everything I've heard, most airlines won't assist you (aka make any promises) in advance but most will help you once you get there - everyone loves weddings right?! cheesy.gif

We are flying AA, I'm bringing my dress in the garment bag and plan to carry it on since I've heard they will usually hang it up for you in first class closet. If your airline doesn't have a first class or pilot's closet, they maaaaay ask you to store it overhead....not ideal.....but still MUCH better than checking it! I plan to get mine steamed anyway once I get there.

I'm doing the same thing.  Just putting it in a garment bag and hoping they will hang it in first class!  We're flying AA too.

If they don't, they can watch me cry! LOL

I flew US Air, and I (meaning my loving husband) carried my dress in a double garment bag through the whole airport as a 'carry on' item.  I was told that they could make no guarantee and that I had to ask the woman at the terminal, who also told me they could not promise me anything.  When I went in, the flight attendants even told me that I had to put it in the overhead bin, but I had a friend in first class and he just hung it there for me, no questions asked.  I would bet that if you asked someone in first class if they would mind, I'm sure they wouldn't!  I think it really depends on the people working the plane.  MOST people would be very understanding and willing to help you, knowing it is your bridal gown!!

My gown shop pressed my dress before we left and I didn't need to do anything to it on my wedding day.  It was still as perfect as day 1.  If they press it nicely, it should stay.  At least know this...unless something has changed...they send your items OFF SITE to have them steamed/pressed, and it will take a few days.  If it were me, I wouldn't send me dress away!

Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
