Very cute OOT bag! Yea we kept our cake very simple...I didn't want anything over the top. I was afraid if I picked something too detailed that they would screw it up and I wouldn't be happy with it. So I figured, how can they screw up something so simple! I have heard of other girls taking a picture of what they want their cake to look like and it had very intricate details and they weren't happy with the outcome...so I left very little room for disappointment.

Any other questions you girls have? Don't freak out that a WC hasn't contacted you yet...they really do plan things very well last minute. The majority of stuff we picked when we got down there...but I understand the anxiety that goes along with it, because I definitely had it too! Just take it with a grain of salt...what will be, will be and your wedding will be fabulouscheesy.gif

Also forgot to mention...be sure to save and BRING ALONG the confirmation emails you get for the spa (and confirmation numbers). The Spa can be a bit unorganized and sometimes had a tough time finding our reservations, but it all worked out! You just want that information with you so you can prove that you made the reservation. Just some helpful hints...

Thanks, I really appreciate it! Yeah she is running out of time, 6 days left until April...I hope they contact you soon!! I have most of that stuff picked out also, but since I havent been there, I may be changing my mind on locations once I arrive, we will see!! Yeah I bought the Saphire Package so not worried about decorations as much for the wedding & reception.

How are you getting everything down there? It seems like you have bought a lot of stuff with the decorations & OOT bags...Just curious!

My biggest fear is the changing of the resort, bad customer service experiences and just overall experiences from trip advisor and reviews I have been reading. So I just really hope everything goes well for you and I! I know most on this forum, have had fabulous experiences, and I just hope you and I both have the same great experiences along with our guests!!!

I've pretty much picked out my wedding event locations, I just need to let them know where I want to have everything.  Yesenia told me that I'm the only bride on my day so I don't think I'll have a problem.

As for the ceremony, I bought a package so I think I'm okay there.

I'm bringing the decorations for my cocktail party and my dinner.  I pretty much figured out what I wanted and needed based on past brides that I've chatted with on this thread.  If it wasn't for their help I think I would be freaking out.

The last few post about the cake and bouquets helped me figure out what I needed with that.

I've diy almost everything for our wedding and I'm so thankful for all the help from this site and the other brides.  And I purchased my own table runners and napkins on e-bay.  When I get a chance I'll have to post all of my diy pics!  I've been very busy!!

I did however, book all of the spa/salon services and received a confirmation e-mail.  I read somewhere that the spa/salon books up quick because of the resort dollars.

You can book your appointments with this e-mail. Martha Ponce: e-mail: mponce@allinclusivecollection.com

I just finished doing my OOT bags over the weekend :)052.JPG

We're going to try and fit most of everything in our carry on bags.  And some in our check bags. If we have to we'll pay the extra $50 for an additional bag.  I figure even if we have to pay for an extra check bags it's still a lot less than paying the resort for their decorations.  I've really tried to keep in mind when purchasing items, what can be packed flat and what can I take that won't be bulky.

I've made about 100 paper tissue flowers for the table centerpieces for the dinner table. We'll buy some mexican pottery when we get there to put them in.  With the flowers, I made them and put them on the wire but didn't puff them out so they'll travel flat.  There's a great shop on 5th ave in Playa del Carmen that you can buy stuff on the cheap.  And I mean cheap! We always hit that store when we go to Playa.

There's also a Walmart in Playa del Carmen near 5th ave.  So if there's some last minute things you need to purchase, it may be worth it for you to rent a car for the day.

When I get some extra time, I'll post some pics of the decorations that I've made and purchased to take.

We just started planning our at home reception over the weekend!  It never stops:) !

It's going to cost more for that than our wedding in Mexico!

Wow, I give you props for taking all of that stuff. I am going to take some things like the guest book, table place holders, table numbers and such, but figured I would just use what they have for the table linens.

I was going to also go into Playa to see what else I can get possibly for last minute welcome bag additions or even dinner/reception, I am really trying to limit how many bags we bring, because we will be there for 11 days, so I already have to pack clothes/shoes and such for that long of a timeframe!

I cant wait to see your pictures, I am jealous & impressed with how much you have done, I feel like I am a little behind lol.

hey ladies - need some advice on booking salon/spa appointment times
Our wedding is at 6pm, what time should i book hair and make up?
Also do you know if they can come to your room to do it? I really want those getting ready photos with our photographer!

crazy, 36 days out. I did receive a call from my WC but it wasn't during the time we specified in the email (working) so i called back and left a message and haven't heard back so I will try again this week! I just really want my flowers (blue orchids) which I believe are special order, that is the only thing I am nervous about!

Hi Bree!!

I think everyone has to go to the SPA to get Hair/Makeup/Nails done, but I am sure someone who has already went through this can confirm that.

Our wedding is at 6pm on May 26th, and I want my Hair/Makeup/Nails all done, so I was thinking of having my appointments starting around 12, I figured an hour for Nails/Makeup & an hour and 1/2 for Hair, that will get you done around 4 or so, so you can have the photographer come and take pics of you getting ready and such! Just my thoughts, but I am interested to hear what others recommend as well!

I hope you have a fabulous day and experience, I cant wait to hear your feedback about the resort!

Has the WC already been in contact with you as well?!?

My bridesmaids are getting their hair done at the resort salon - our ceremony is at 5pm and their appts. are at 12:30pm & 2pm (90 min. service for updos).

Fernando Fuentes/Makeup Pros is coming to my room to do mine, my mom's & my MOH's hair and makeup and we're starting at 1pm....so I'm thinking w/your 6pm ceremony, anywhere from 1pm-2:30/3pm appt. would be fine.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
